Anybody see the article about ESPN pulling announcer Robert Lee from doing a Virginia home game? Could this be real? He's an Asian American by the way.

That's so ridiculous it's hard to comprehend on any level.

But silly chit deserves silly chit.

Absolutely ridiculous. I am so glad I quit watching ESPN a couple of years ago after they ran some pieces sharing their political stance and what they will stand for.

I hear it's a state law in Virginia that you have to be able to pronounce "Robert Lee" in order to work there.

Big deal. He goes to gate 23 instead of gate 14 and covers a different football game in a different state. Why are conservatives such snowflakes?

ESPN will typically cower to the left, even if it is something as ridiculous as this. There have been a number of articles about ESPN's political persuasion this last year, not surprised at this sad story at all. Word is, a guy named Cobra Commander was set to call a few games this year as well, but the Go Joe's ! got offended. My point? Someone will always be offended by something and now virtually everything is fair game. It's a terrible thing when a vast minority of views wins out (i.e., I'm pretty sure almost no one was going to be offended by this guy calling the games this year).

I don't know... if conservatives can cry this badly over a switched assignment, can you imagine how badly they'd have cried that ESPN was trolling them had Robert Lee called that game?

Dat, why is everything an argument for you now? I think reassigning him is stupid and I'm fairly certain you know I'm no snowflake. I don't see conservatives crying here, they made a comment. You're trying to elevate the situation. Let's stick to basketball people, this board turns into a **** sandwich every time we go political.

Yeah, my bad. I made it all political.

This for sure....Yep they cower alright, except in cases of Robert Lee and of course having one of their own call for the punching out of Grayson Allen.

Actually, Dattier, it was not about politics at all. It was about the total absurdity of poitical correctness, which is apparently an activity which you view as innocuous and, probably, as beneficial.

I'll break from you a bit here. While political correctness can go too far at times, so can everything else. There are fanatics on both sides, but political correctness does serve a valuable purpose most of the time.

I believe this was one of the instances in which it went too far.

This is a stupid act by ESPN, a network that chose Bruce Jenner as its person of the year. Why is the entire media and every liberal painted with the same brush? If Fox News does or says something, is every reasonable conservative branded by Fox's action?

Yes, because to liberals "reasonable Conservative" is an oxymoron, and they (we) are all fascists anyway.

Totally agree, Show. I have been worried for some time that this website is morphing into an ESPN, which one commentator describes as a place "where social justice outdoes sports on a regular basis."
