Hulu Live just announced their price hike up to 65+ per month. Considering switching to either YTTV or Sling. I really disliked Hulu's interface, so the price hike isn't worth it to me. Sling is the most affordable at $30/month with a $10 sports add on that includes BTN. Anyone have experience with it?

I've got my TV down to essentially zero dollars. Dropped Netflix when they started offer pedo material, so that left me with Amazon Prime which I'd have anyway, with or without the TV package. Picked up HULU with ads for $2 per month last year on black Friday. I'll drop that because I found out I can get it free with our TMobile family plan. We get pretty good reception over the air with a digital antenna. I'm thinking about getting the Amazon Fire TV Recast to DVR some NFL and other broadcast shows. We also keep an eye on the DVD selection at the Omaha Public library which is pretty good. There is more than enough to watch at free or affordable prices.
SlingTV, accompanied by an antenna for local channels does the job. If you have kids, I recommend having Netflix to subsidize.
Even if it's the exact same price, who would want satellite unless you were in the middle of nowhere?
Curious why you say that? I cancelled DTV a little over a year ago in order to go to YTTV and I can't name a single aspect of DTV that I preferred to what I have now. YTTV has had a price increase or two but even if it was the same price as DTV I'd prefer YTTV. I can even watch tv when it's raining hard or snowing, it's like magic or something.
We just got Sling Blue the other day. They are offering your first 2 months for the price of one. So we are getting two months for $30. We don't get ESPN or BTN for that price. I don't really care. I am getting FS1 which had last weeks and this weeks Husker games. We may just drop it after 2 months since football will be over and I don't watch much live TV anyway.
Very much doubt that...there is something pretty special about driving down the interstate and having my wife watch a tivo'd show on her tablet...people won't give that convenience up ever.
Like the guy above said, I gave up DirecTV about 3 or 4 years ago for streaming, I can't think of one thing I miss...no Tivo equipment, no contracts, no ugly dish nailed to the side of my house, mobile watching, etc...
I remember when I was in high school and my buddy's dad was telling us that satellite dishes would soon be the size of a large pizza box. We were all amazed by the thought of that. My neighbor's old dish was the size of a small garden shed. Depending on what channel you wanted, the thing would rotate and it would take about 10 minutes to to find the signal . Good times.
As long as I get the Hallmark channel i'm good with any of the services...their Christmas shows are the best.
Nothing like a two year satellite contract that carefully reminds you that channels are not guaranteed. Anyone who has had Dish the past couple years will tell you what a joy that is when channels are suddenly dropped. Suns and Diamondback games have been off the menu for a year a half. No HBO either. And local channels have disappeared for weeks at a time as well. Maybe Directv is a safer bet, but I will take my money to month to month services. Currently have YTTV and it has been excellent -- especially the month to month contract.
We play a game in the office every Christmas season. Whenever our wives watch a Hallmark movie, the next day we tell our coworkers the first 10 minutes of the plot and we have to guess the rest of the plot. We get it right 100% of the time.
We also had a great idea this year, Mystery Science Theater 3000 set to Hallmark Christmas movies.....
OMG!!! The one on last night guys, there was this misunderstanding very early on and I thought for sure it was going to end badly, but they did eventually figure it out and they each found true love and it was AMAZING!!!!!
Let me guess, there was a girl/boy who moved to the big city years ago. They thought they were happy, but it turns out they weren’t. And then they had to go back home against their will due to a minor tragic event. (And small town has a boutique or a Christmas tree farm or something of the like that they are connected too.)
Then they meet a person of opposite gender in a uncomfortable way. Maybe they bump into them. Maybe they trip in front of them. Maybe a Christmas tree falls on them. And they have some conflict of some sort regarding the previous tragic even that brought the city person back to their roots.
But here’s the twist. They find themselves happier in the small town. And in love with this new person. Christmas is saved, they’re in love and everything is perfect.

It is called the Ranch Hand.
A small town kid moves off the farm to live in the big city. He thinks he is happy there with his fast paced, high stress life. Until he is called home. Trouble on the farm. His widower father, who he never saw eye to eye with, had an accident! Oh no! Begrudgingly, he calls his son and tells him he is going to lose the farm. The son sucks it up, comes home to help his father save the farm.
On his first day back in town, he bumps into the local boutique owner who makes and sells lotion from the plants that his dad farms! However, his city slicker clothes are off-putting to her and he accidently comes off as rude. And to make matters worse, there is more trouble at home. The farm is in worse shape than he originally thought.
So he does the only thing he can think of. He starts giving handies at the truck stop to make extra cash. But his hands start to get calloused. So he has to go to the local boutique and buy the only lotion in town - from that girl he met! Their attitudes start to change towards each other. But he doesn't have time to fall in love. He has to save the farm by giving truckers squeezers at the local Flying-J.
Long story short, they start dating. He gets carpal tunnel from all the HJs. She finds out. He doesn't get to explain. She meets a trucker and he tells her it is to save the farm. He thinks it is all over. She rallies the town and they all start giving truckers tug jobs and they save the farm!

Well the old satellite services like Dish and Direct TV are dinosaurs already.
BUT Elon Musk's satellite internet service is up and coming and likely to get widespread usage in rural areas. It will further enable many people with office jobs to work at a distance living wherever they want to live.
So in a sense, those using Musk's internet service will be using satellites to access their streaming services.

You're tracking. The plot is stronger if there is a child involved. Mother or father passed. New love interest forms a strong bond with the child. The child's parent is probably preoccupied with their career. Most of the story should revolve around a small town in Colorado or somewhere with evergreens, mountains and plentiful ice skating. It also helps if there is a quaint diner with a sage waitress to weigh in with timely advice on matters of the heart. Can't wait!

Just make sure there are at least 4 billion perfectly hung Christmas lights lining Main Street, and I think you're onto something!!!
Early tests already have proven it is lightyears better than Hughes for bandwidth, speed and latency. This will be a game changer for those living in remote areas.
On track to be mostly available in the U.S. by mid 2021. Other parts of the world may take longer.
If bezos figures out how to get cheap groceries delivered by drone, in 1 day, I could probably go another 50 miles out.
If we didn't have Hulu Live for free courtesy of the in-laws I would just stream all the NU games for free. I watch just about zero live TV any more and I don't miss it in the slightest.
