The Colony on North Montgomery is where I stayed. Really clean units and they let me keep my dog that weighs over 100 pounds. It never once got rowdy or out of hand with parties and whatnot, but it's only drawback to me was that most of your restaurants and shopping were on the other side of town. It's not TOO far from the Cotton District, however.

I'd look into Pecan Place or call Dan Camp. Anywhere on Hartness with the exception of Southern Shade. Nothing wrong with Southern Shade besides the fact that it's mostly college students.

Ha. Lived there for a semester. We called it Wood Manure. It was a dump 30 years ago. Fun times, though.

Call Becca at 324-0506 she manages University Club, right next to Buffalo wild wings. Good size 1 bedroom units, close to campus, shopping etc. Some units are owned by those who just come up for weekends. It's not student housing.

Not sure if they are pet friendly, but try Maxwell Station apartments (Maxwell Street across from Bin 612) owned by Brownsville Station - 662-323-6603. Easy to get anywhere on foot, and pricing was fair at the time.

Also for pet friendly and good location, contact Overstreet Properties (662) 323-8618 about their units on Herbert Street (the Herbert Street housing was previously owned by Dawgtown Properties if that helps anyone connect the dots).

I lived at Lampkin Court apts across from Bell Building supply my last 2 years there. Has 1 bedrooms and 2 bedroom townhouses. I believe they've remodeled since I left. It's in a quiet enough area but still an easy access to everything.

There are only 12 units total I believe, and nearly all were post-grads or young professionals when I was there. And were pet friendly
