SHU fans are trying to spin the sh*t storm of a game against Rhode Island into a Rutgers story. They're saying Rutgers couldn't play 3 games on the road in 6 days. They keep referring to how they scheduled Baylor, Louisville, and Oregon. Easy to poke holes in that defense. We, too, were scheduled to play Baylor. It fell through for us as well as SHU. The Oregon game fell through too. The truth is, SHU needs these non-conference games more because the Big East is weak this year.

Their scheduling is just as ridiculous as ours but in the other direction. Nobody told them to play at Rhode Island and then fly to Nebraska the next day, that's really kinda a dumb thing to do especially once Bryce Aiken got hurt.

I’m realizing is Seton Hall really relevant? I feel like their biggest claim to fame now is when they play us. Their official twitter account of the game had like 26 likes. That’s it. Their official barstool account started tweeting streams of the guy who runs it playing call of duty at halftime, gets like 4 likes. If Rutgers fans stopped talking about them, Seton Hall would become like Wagner, you forget they exist unless you play them

My point is SHU is starting to sound like Sorrycuse fans with the excuses. Your problems are your problems. The way they are complaining over there it sounds like a little kid telling on a sibling for something that happened days ago after he got busted from something he did right now.

it's quite selfish for shoe not to honor the rotation and play in their building simply because it is empty...and refuse a neutral site game as well...everyone is in the same boat, you see non-conference rivalry games occurring elsewhere... more I've thought about it, there is no reason to play them going forward...but then again, they didn't vote for RU to enter the BE years ago so I'm not surprised about selfish hall...

and they make excuses for getting embarassed last year--understand thinkin' small over there, misremembering that Powell played most of first game--he either faked the concussion, or it was malpractice by shoe for letting him play as much as he did...it was 26-7 or close to that when he was taken out...

and LOL losing to an average URI team...good for their HC who was here as an AC under Rice...

Now SHU must have to play Oregon tomorrow led by Eugene Omoruyi. I will never forget when Powell leveled Eugene going in for a layup in the last few seconds of our win over SHU in Dec 2017 . The game was over and Powell's foul could have caused a brawl but RU completely controlled themselves. I think Myles Powell matured a lot after that and seemed like an outstanding teammate last year. I think Eugene will cause many problems tomorrow for SHU.

I think you guys are being a little rough on SHU. They have played a tough schedule and probably have a better sense of where their team is at than we do right now. I have not seen Aiken to know how much of a difference maker he is, but I still think they would give us a tough game if we were to play this year. Unfortunately it does not appear that is going to happen. I think they lost some credibility when they were willing to play Iona at the Rock but not us supposedly do to the costs involved.

Must we have this same approach "that everyone is great and I'm not sure about Rutgers" post in ever thread.

Beginning to think Garden State Hardwood Classic will not happen this year (after really feeling the contrary) ... no way Willard commits recruiting nightmare by giving us a 30 + point win on their home court

I know Aiken is injured but this looks like the worst SHU team in a long, long time. No wonder they are afraid to

Let’s make the NCAA’s before we talk about beating teams by30.

Zero chance we beat them by anywhere near 30. From what I’ve seen so far and with our cupcake schedule thus far, with both Aiken and Geo out, I’d expect us to win a close game on their court right now. Too bad we’ll never know.

Why? We absolutely demolished a much much better SHU team last year and easily make the tournament

Not to take anything away from that total domination....but We played at the RAC - with a packed house, we had Geo, they didn’t have Mamu at all, and didn’t have Powell for most of the game.

That seems like taking a lot away

It’s actually not because given those circumstances, we should have dominated them...and that’s exactly what we did...from the opening tip. We could not have improved on that outcome.

I would think Seton Hall should be able to defeat Penn State as Penn State lost their coach, Stevens & Watkins.

Akins is out but I think he is more of a scoring guard than a true point guard anyway. He really got very little assists while at Harvard. He is a very good 3 point shooter but SHU made 13 or 14 threes vs Oregon and shot over 50 % on threes and still lost by 13 points.
