Does the recent Supreme Court affirmative action ruling effect the Ayres case in Mississippi? Legal opinions?

The Ayers case has always been a crutch / excuse for state, IHL, and individual university leadership to do what they want to do anyway….which is set rock bottom admissions requirements to help balloon enrollment (and thus revenue in the coffers) at all the state universities.

There are absolutely tons of ways around it if any of the schools individually wanted to improve their academic profile. There’s also ways to raise the bar for all the schools (you know, raise the admissions standards for JSU, MVSU, Alcorn, etc. as well….along with MSU / OM / USM). Just one of the many, many examples of continued small time thinking for short term gain at the expense of the bigger picture over the two plus centuries of Mississippi’s history.

We did a college tour for my oldest son consisting of TAMU, Auburn, UGA and a few others. Other than Mississippi Public universities, some effort/merit was required to get into these schools

Correct. And all the schools on that list reside in states with multiple public HBCU’s, too. Imagine that.
