High end - Mansion on Forsyth Park, eaten there, very good
Mrs . Wilkes, - but there is always a line
We also went to the Crystal Beer Parlor, they had a good selection of beers.

Just did a long weekend with the wife. Best decision we made, book the Savannah Taste Experience, east side walking tour. Ask for the guide named Country. Seriously. It's a walking tour that hits 4-5 local spots for a small bite. As good as the trolly ride and ghost tours for info, plus you get the local best spots to eat. It's an open carry town too! Ask Country where to eat the rest of your meals, we were glad we did. Ghost tour trolly ride was also cool, do it after dark. Any questions let me know!

Mrs Wilkes is a real old time southern meal place. Family style food served in an old dining room atmosphere, but you might be eating with other friendly tourists. That's the fun part. We had a great time and actually spoke with Mrs. Wilkes ( was in her 90's) and maybe has passed on by now
If you have time Tybee Island has some good seafood places or just grab a cocktail. Hilton Head is about 45 mins north and has a little of everything and over 200 eateries. A great vacation spot.

I second the Olde Pink House (one of the few "must do" items that's actually worth it) and the She Crab Soup (sublime, the best in the low country). As for the other most well know "must do" in Savannah, lunch at Mrs. Wilkes is great value (although, there's better fried chicken to be had elsewhere in less desirable parts of the city). But, as reservations aren't accepted, it can require some standing around. You'll cut the wait to nearly nothing if you wait for a rainy day.
