I was indoctrinated for years listening to the racist gas bag from the family, while I don’t celebrate his death, I definitely don’t think his life and hatred should be celebrated either.

I always wondered how big of an actor some of these guys are.

Stern clearly created a radio personality.
Rome did as well. It is not like when he is at home he is asking for his kids "take on their day at school"
Did Rush?

Surprised nobody mentioned that he was a huge Husker football fan. Quite possibly the highest profile one after Warren.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is the other big DC player that is/was into Nebraska football.

RIP to quite possibly the last radio legend

I can honestly say Rush Limbaugh changed my life. I was a happy go lucky conservative with a family and kids. I started listening to him at work and my eyes were opened. I've always been a conservative, small government ,low taxes balanced budget. He was the one who opened my eyes to the ills of America, before him I believed the democrats were good people. Americans who I just disagreed with. He really showed me what they really were traitors, thieves, liars, killers, murderers, free loaders, communists. I knew I couldn't stand by and let my country be taken over by these cowards. You either stand for something or fall for anything. I started preaching to family, friends, neighbors about how this country was being destroyed. How the lame stream media was lying to them.

Even though the man who changed my life is gone. I will continue the fight. Rush is right. I will continue preaching his gospel of truth. we must stand strong and continue on!!!

Didn't this guy have a segment where he would list off gay men who had died from AIDS and would sound a celebration bell? Was caught traveling to well known child sex trafficking locations with Viagra? Among countless other horrific things. Why would anyone celebrate this dudes life?

Caught traveling....Dude you must be NOT like WOMEN??! He had Viagra in the Dominican Republic....in case you didn't KNOW that where the most beautiful WOMEN in the world live. I've been there several times myself and I can tell you the last thing on most men's minds when they are there is the BS you just said!!

I didn't know he did that.....allegedly. Since you were slur reputations you obviously was offended he read the names of your heroes. You should be happy because other than that no one would besides YOU and your "friends" would have known who they were....

was a short lived segment that he regretted and said that he did because it was someone losing or lost their life and he should have more respectful of a life led.

people who didn’t like him never see the positives that he did only the horrible, often out of context and rarely if ever listened to him. Listening to edited clips, not realistic to get his messages.
He did a great deal of good and did some bad and wrong. He had a tremendous platform to share and discuss. He pushed for thinking and questioning ideas. He will be missed by those

He regretted it after he lost sponsors. He still did very homophobic, but not quite to the level of literally celebrating people dieing, segments for the rest of his career.

The beauty of America, well for now anyway, you can choose to listen or not. Perhaps we should follow and discuss Morning Joe and his hatred for the "taco stands" in Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, Kenosha et al

It’s amazing Sterns transformation. I used to watch him on E! Back in high school, and on terrestrial radio and he was hilarious but obnoxious. Now he sounds so tired and old. Not in a bad way. I still enjoy him but he sounds like Larry David now
Same thing happened to David Letterman. He was really funny in his younger years and then discovered politics and got really un-funny.

Jimmy Kimmel. Used to be pretty sharp and funny, now I just see him as mean and spiteful. He can do what he wants with his career, but I liken it to seeing someone at a party you dislike. You know they're there, but do your best to avoid them because you know it's the pooper of the punch bowl. Nothing good comes of it.

Always had the feeling he tried, and would have preferred to be more moderate, but quickly figured out it was more profitable and safer to go the other way.

Hate to see anyone lose their battle with a terminal disease. For many though, he was a disease to humanity. A lot of hate, bigotry, racist, and homaphobic remarks came spewing out of this man's mouth all to often. I quit listening to him years ago when I joined the military. Having a more diverse group of friends than what I had in Nebraska, I couldn't bring myself to listen to someone who thought so little of them. To each their own though, but he showed us what kind of man he really was.

Whether you like someone or not, agree with their politics or not, celebrating and mocking them so close to their death says more about you and your character.

This man would have had more positive influence on Americans the very first time he successfully plunged a toilet as a plumber. Mourn his death but praising his influence or significance makes you a pathetic person. He’s ranked as the 53rd most horrible human beings to ever live. Congrats to him for not making the top 50 list and dropping life expectancy by 2.78931169 years so we can all enjoy an early retirement.

Remember that mfr that killed a bunch of men/boys after luring them into his home and then hid their dead and rotting bodies in the crawl space under his house? John Wayne Gacy aka the Killer Clown. Number 54 on our list. #54 The Killer Clown #53 The Killer Talk Show Radio Host. Tune in tomorrow for #52 on our list and then it’s only 52 days until we reveal the deeply disturbed human responsible for over 450,000 unnecessary deaths or #1 on our list of the 54 most horrible human beings to ever live.

He's said some things in the past that were terrible and regrettable. I haven't kept score on his entire career, but I think he's apologized or admitted he's been wrong. That's what makes conservativism different from progressiveism. We don't reach back and find your sins from 25 years ago and then drag you out for stoning. There's room for forgiveness on the right, with exception to the most egregious crimes. Some people do not deserve to be back in the spotlight and influencing American Life.

Rush had a gift for finding comedy in the chaos of politics. He could point out the evils, the lies and hypocrisy within the left better than anyone. I think he also did damage to Republicans who were fraudulent. Rush spoke to the silent majority, and that included people of various backgrounds and socioeconomic demographics. He's the guy that would speak and people would kind of nod in agreement because he was right more often than he was wrong. He was able to articulate what millions of people were thinking, and that doesn't make them bad. It just means they have some common sense.

When you say and believe idiotic things like this, it just ruins your credibility. Do you understand that? Your hyperbole is beyond absurd. This is not how thoughtful, rational people think.

False. He was on Sunday Countdown, not Monday Night Football.

Here was the quote

"I think what we've had here is a little social concern in the NFL. The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well,'' Limbaugh said. "There is a little hope invested in McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve. The defense carried this team."

They brought him on to say controversial things. They got more than they bargained for.

I am a life-long fan of Dennis Miller, but when he was doing football, I knew it wouldn't last because his jokes were flying over the heads of most audience members. A good football man talks down to his listeners while not making it too obvious or insulting. It's a real skill.

This was the infancy of the cancel culture. How dare you say that we overstate the value of McNabb.

In that example, he said the quiet part out loud. Was he right about the NFL's intentions? Probably, but you can't say it publicly and expect to survive.

Why do you suppose he was such an Apple fanboy the past few years? He clearly loved their products although he was not their ideal customer. It was kind of funny. They were never going to embrace him, and yet he never stopped loving them and it was genuine. I wonder how many iPhones and iPads he gave away?

We've come a long way; the President can say something so stupid and racist as black and hispanic kids don't know how to use the internet, and we celebrate him! My how we've progressed.

Biden died?

Ooh, good one. I know in your little cult world you don’t question the party line and worship your candidate. On the other hand, I’ve been pretty transparent in my feelings that Biden isn’t great.

And before you give me the liberal spiel, I voted for Bush, McCain and Romney. I don’t think Biden will make a great President, I think he’s a crap, establishment driven candidate and I’m completely unexcited to vote for him, but I will, because Trump is the greater of the two evils in my book.

And for the record, I think Biden is a **** candidate.

The democrats had years to find the answer, or competitor to Trump. They trotted out Biden, who the Democratic machine feels they owe but won’t bring out voters and Bernie, who couldn’t beat Hillary years ago, let alone Trump, and who can’t draw the support to beat Biden who is a very meh candidate. It is reminiscent of the Dole, Romney or McCain campaigns where they were boring.
