Is Marc Ecko still "known" in fashion? I Googled him and not (recent) much came up.

I ended-up with a free watch of his a few years ago. I don't wear it since it not my style but I could see where some others might like it. I don't know what to do with it but have to decide soon

My wife worked him like 16 yrs ago when we 1st met. I think in South River. She told me a story when 50 cent went apeshit on one of her coworkers when the girl gave Eminem clothing that was part of 50 cent clothing line. My wife said he was crazy mad

I loved eCko clothing back in the early 2000’s in about 2008 he actually came out with a Rutgers line of clothing. I still have a hoodie that is on it’s last legs (wife keeps insisting its time to toss, but I can't let it go lol). He had a huge mansion in Highland Park that was under construction. Ecko really went out of style soon after that. The huge store In Woodbridge mall closed in maybe 2010. Looks like he sold off his company to pay debt creditors.

Ecko says Rutgers was particularly special to him because of the "authenticity" and "cultural diversity" of its student population; and reflecting that, pieces mix Ecko's characteristic edginess with traditional collegiate styles. Prices range anywhere from $38 for a t-shirt to $125 for a sweater.


"It is not a conventional 'team sports' license," Ecko explains during an interview with The Star-Ledger. "I wanted to capture the spirit of being in New Brunswick -- the energy of 1993 -- from punk rock to hip-hop, with a touch of Jersey charm. Rutgers was the inspiration...and my memories of the place. It wasn't simply about the 'name' or the 'mascot.' It was more emotionally loaded."- Link

Surprised why no one has asked yet...why do you have to decide what to do with a watch soon?

I'm moving and need to get rid of "stuff." I've had this watch a couple of years, and its just a "drawer thing" now. The former owner was a DJ. I know DJs, and gave away the DJ stuff

I don't like watches, and gave them up before mobile phones. Plus the Ecko watch is very heavy (being a pimp watch). I might be able to break a window if I threw it. It could also stop a bullet, so maybe I'll keep it through election season.

Most likely, you are going to just have to "give" it away anyway. Unless a Rolex/PAtek or something similar- you get pennies on the dollar, at best.

I remember him back during my time (during my late college years into my grad school days). He was a very nice guy that was true to the styles he designed and sold.

By the way, I like that red/white RU hoodie above and wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of those.

I think the watch was like $250 new. Its in good shape, but for me still not worth the hassle of listing/shipping the thing. Its needed a battery a few years now, and that's another hassle since my jeweler closed-up last year.


Looking at other Ebay Ecko watches you get a good idea of their size. Ecko watches are big - I imagine you would always know you're wearing one.






I saw this watch and its listed as "Fresh" down to 50 meters. Sounds like it could pinch a butt in shallow waters

I always felt like he absolutely supported RU.

I saw he made a Rutgers Pharmacy shirt to raise funds. I read Ecko originally wanted to be a pharmacy major.

I'll give it to Salvation Army with some other things. I don't even see people wearing watches unless they are smart watches (and most of those are fugly)
