OT: Rtic vs. Yeti

Does anyone on here have an Rtic cooler? Also, can anyone comment on how they compare to yetis?

Easily and cheaply modify a standard cooler with a drill and extra insulation, including spray foam gap filler, then use the hundreds of $ you saved to buy stuff that goes in the cooler, like beer, food, dismembered body parts of your victims, etc.

I have 2 Rtic coolers and they work. The hard plastic one works better than the soft sided but both do everything my buds yetis do.

I have a Yeti, cant speak on RTIC other than my buddy has one and it seems to do well also. However, I also have a Coleman Extreme that keeps ice just as well and is tons cheaper. Believe there is a comparison video on youtube that shows this

Check out the Otterbox line. Have a 30 soft side backpack that’s the best soft cooler I’ve ever had and been through a good many of them.

There no noticeable difference in the cups, soft sides, or hard sides. Not enough to justify the price...as in an hour more of ice lasting really doesn’t make a difference.

yeti inserted themselves into polictics the wrong way, based on it’s customer base. that pissed ppl off so if it makes a difference to you then google it. RTIC’s will do the job just fine for half the coin.

I have had an Rtic 65 for a couple years. Been on a lot of camping trips, softball tournaments, and bbq cooks. Love it. I don't see how Yeti could be twice as good.

Really not a lot of noticeable difference in the hard coolers. Yeti soft coolers are better insulated but I like the size options and the zippers better on the Rtic. If I were buying a hard cooler and price wasn't the deciding factor, I would buy the Otter Box, it its much lighter than either the Yeti or the Rtic. Yeti = American Made, Rtic = Chinese knockoff!

This is the one I have. I kept my eyes on eBay and gave just over 1/2 the list price for it in new condition. I found myself on past rtics and yetis often not rezipping the lid because it was too much trouble to unzip and rezip every time. It's always a two handed operation requiring me to sit down my fresh beer to complete. After 4-5 opens and closes to get used to the initially awkward latching mechanism, this otter is a simple one handed operation that takes no time. I was a little nervous about the seal on seal closure mechanism, but so far so good. Being able to use it as a backpack cooler really puts it in a different category for me. Especially since it's bigger than all but Rtic's largest softside. Holds a case and a bag of ice really well.

I’ve got a RTIC 65. Only complaint is that one of the rubber feet popped out.
I bought it during one of their sales. Cant see any reason to pay more for any rotomolded cooler. And could probably find for less.

I got in on a group buy(via rockslide.com) from some company called Atlas Coolers a few years ago. 65q was $150. This douche actually got his tumblers into Walmart, (score for him), but most people never got their coolers. I think everyone got their money back. Dude basically got free money for many months, probably to fund his tumbler deal with WalMart. He’s a prick from Frederick, TX.

Anyway, sorry....you triggered me. These RM coolers work great if you need to keep **** cold longer than 2 days. You probably already know this, but carrying a fully loaded 65q is an ordeal. Great for car camping or if it’s on a boat...
But bottom line, No, yeti is certainly not worth the premium price vs RTIC (or anything similar)

oh, and as someone posted, I’ve heard the Coleman Extremes are really good and they are much lighter..

.but, just don’t expect it to hold up to a grizzly attack like mine will...very useful.

I love my Pelican 20. The closing mechanism is nice. It also is tall enough to fit 25” Redfish and is perfect for the back of an Outback.
