I was aware of the name and some movies but unfamiliar with the person until Denzel Washington mentioned him as his mentor/idol.. Literally was just doing my homework on the guy like 2 weeks ago. RIP

Extremely powerful screen presence. Not sure if he would be the GOAT in that category, but he sure isn't far down the list.

The Defiant Ones with Tony Curtis was awesome. Two racists chained together, one white, one black escape the chain gang and must work together to get away. BTW, Tony Curtis lived to 85.

He was such a powerful actor. 94 was a long life. He impacted many with his roles and his life in general.

Never a bad role in any movie. He was great even though he was a bit old for the part when he played a student in Blackboard Jungle. He was great in the Bedford incident as a reporter on a U.S. warship during the cold war. He is definitely a top ten male actor on my list.
