Ah, a moral relativist. That explains it. It's not a matter of anyone thinking they are better than anyone else. When you are in church on Sunday, ask your priest or pastor if they think pornography constitutes sin. You won't.
When you're in church on Sunday, ask your priest or pastor if they think concluding that another person is going to hell constitutes a sin. You won't.

I guess in a nutshell I don't put myself up on a mantle thinking I'm any better than anyone else.

You can make statements that look authoritative and fact based but that does not make it so. The truth is you don't have the slightest clue who does hate Larry Flynt any more than I do. I never said that I hate Larry Flynt or that anybody else should. Nice strawman attempt but no.

I did not God shame anybody. Show me where I did.

You asked if I could name anything that Hustler magazine did wrong, I told you. Doesn't matter if you accept it or not. The truth is you ran your mouth and I called you on it.

Adultery is not a crime (in some cases), Lying is not a crime (in some cases) Pedophilia is not a crime (in some religions) should we engage in it?

Friend you haven't laid a glove on me yet.

Go Blue!

I don't know how many times you want me to keep beating you up but I will happily do it!

Nothing Flint did hurt you, not one thing, period.

Your case for hating him doesn't exist. Your case for hating his work doesn't exist.

The big picture, the underlying truth is that pornography is destructive to everyone that uses it and Larry was a champion of it, or scumbag as I prefer. He succeeded financially because he was within the law, mostly, but he's still a merchant of human misery. No two ways around it.

Good, moral people do not partake in pornography, as pervasive as it is. It fuels loneliness, depression, marital isolation, divorce, problems with real intimacy and on and on and on.

Like I said, there is a mountain of evidence to support this. But since this forum is more a backroom bar of ignorant drunks than a respectable place for rational discourse, we know how this will end up.

Porn is a "problem" because women get mad that their man likes it. That is it.

Flint provided people a lot of (legal) work.

We do now how this will end up, you are right about that.

I do find it odd that you think porn is destructive to everyone that uses it. I am guessing that a staggering % of posters here "use it" and that they are doing just fine.

I never said Larry Flynt hurt me.

I never said I hate him nor did I make a case for hating him or insinuate that he should be hated.

Do you even know what you are talking about?

Yeah, that's true. I didn't bring kids and parenting into this, that was the devout Vic.

Pornography is an incredibly destructive force in society. There are mountains of evidence to support this. But who cares, right?

Now be a good dad, get out your favorite videos or magazines or whatever you have hidden and entertain your boys. Make sure your wife is there (are you married?) and get her reaction. I am sure she is super supportive. So much wholesome fun. Larry is vile. The world is now a better place.

Maybe that's true, but there are going to be plenty of little boys that figure out something to beat their meat to.

Haha!

Could you imagine if they didn't??? The 12 year old fighting 12 year olds would be uncontrollable!

I believe I also saw that bars and drinking were bad...Good lord.

The research and evidence doesn't support your position. Are you even willing to investigate? But since you are operating your life by the default mode of 'guessing' at things, I think we have our answer. I don't doubt is is easier and less taxing on the brain.

There was a recent news story about a New York Times reporter calling out Mastercard for profiting off the biggest online platform for porn in the world. For years they laughed off allegations that their site was huge source of underage sexual exploitation and rape. But when Mastercard was shamed for their association and the lawyers got involved, the pornographers cleaned up their act, pronto.

So I'll stand by my argument. It's destructive. People who think it's permissible and harmless are very likely contributing to the harm of others, whether they acknowledge it or not. Is your conscience ok with that?

I know the research and the Mastercard story. The fact that they were shamed for it is in fact the shameful part.

My conscience is totally fine with it but I sort of have the feeling, because of your stance on this, that you either got caught with porn by someone in your life OR you are a big time porn fan and feel guilty about it.

It was shameful that they got caught profiting off the rape of underage girls? Is that your argument? I"m out. I've wasted too much time here.

I wouldn't ask anyone that because I don't know. How can anyone know the condition of another's heart? But we can judge a tree by its fruit. As a Christian, you're aware that repentance is necessary for eternal life. For his sake, hopefully Larry is repentant and remorseful for his deeds.

Now back to my original question that you are avoiding. Do you as a family have a shared interest in hardcore pornography? It seems you really are an advocate for it.

People still use the term "Hardcore porn"...100 dollars says you have a Cinemax subscription!

Anyone remember when you could get a black box (relax Dru, this is not racist) and could unscramble channels (relax Dru, I know it is stealing, I am sorry) and sometimes the playboy or spice (I think that was name) channel would come in and you would not change the channel, not even for a second, because you didn't want to lose it!
