What a guy. I recall one of the most controversial photo layouts in Hustler magazine was Dorothy and the Lion, Scarecrow, and Tinman getting naked. While every issue contained a lot of socially unacceptable content, turning the Wizard of Oz into something dirty really triggered people.
He was a very influential figure who almost single handedly brought porn into the mainstream, off Playboys back a little but he capitalized on it and built a nice little empire.... In my book it's Larry and Hugh on the dirty Mount Rushmore, and the movie Debbie Does Dallas, and Ron Jeremy, not a bad list.

Pornography is an incredibly destructive force in society. There are mountains of evidence to support this. But who cares, right?
Now be a good dad, get out your favorite videos or magazines or whatever you have hidden and entertain your boys. Make sure your wife is there (are you married?) and get her reaction. I am sure she is super supportive. So much wholesome fun. Larry is vile. The world is now a better place.

This message board and Facebook, et al are more destructive forces in society than pornography is. There are mountains of evidence to support this. But who cares, right? I have zero hangups about myself, my kids or my wife. We're secure in our love for each other regardless of what our human failings are. I don't care about Larry Flint, he may be vile and the world may be a better place. Personally I don't think the world has changed one tiny iota based on his death. I go to church on Sunday, worry about myself, and refrain from making grand statements about who is going to hell and who isn't. I guess in a nutshell I don't put myself up on a mantle thinking I'm any better than anyone else.
The big picture, the underlying truth is that pornography is destructive to everyone that uses it and Larry was a champion of it, or scumbag as I prefer. He succeeded financially because he was within the law, mostly, but he's still a merchant of human misery. No two ways around it.
Good, moral people do not partake in pornography, as pervasive as it is. It fuels loneliness, depression, marital isolation, divorce, problems with real intimacy and on and on and on.
Like I said, there is a mountain of evidence to support this. But since this forum is more a backroom bar of ignorant drunks than a respectable place for rational discourse, we know how this will end up.
