Kenny Klein's legacy extended well beyond the University of Louisville, where he served as a sports information director for 39 years.
I remember Kenny Klein from my days at Murray State. I didn't know him well, but said hi to him once or twice in the fine arts building. I always admired him.
I don't want to get into details, but I called him once to ask him if he could help out a very special family in western Kentucky and he could not have been nicer or more accommodating. To say he made a huge difference in their lives during that time is a massive understatement.

No disrespect and my sympathies to his family but there’s a story going around that he choked to death on a piece of shrimp?
I heard he was at dinner with Pitino and Padgett when this happened. Padgett attempted the Heimlech but I guess he was out of oxygen for too long.

But I send my condolences to Cards Nation for the loss of Kenny Klein. He's their Mr. Wildcat. When you see grown men like Pitino struggle to keep it together during their eulogy, you know he was a special person.
By all accounts he was just a great person. Rational and human in the heat of the rivalry. Need more like him. That's a big loss.
