OT: Recent Flooding from Hurricane

It seems like the recent storm caused a lot more shore flooding than usual at the shore?

Multiple places were inundated?

Stone Harbor LBI etc....

Is this the new normal?

Scientists say it’s so. For now anyway. Until it gets worse.

And the flooding mostly comes from the bay side, not the beach/ocean. Those areas are a lot safer. Stone Harbor flood risk map:

its not the new normal, its what has been. Combination of new moon and high tide at 8PM created storm surge from the back bays. View from my back deck on a normal night and Thursday night. It got worse than the picture but that was around 9-10PM when it was dark
