He was a good Shakespearean actor who was kind of strict and then loosened up. Star Trek Next Gen was ok. I never got into it like the first ST but it wasn't awful. "Data" was a Spock clone that didn't really work. Burton, Wheaton and Marina Sirti were good. Goldberg was a good actress back in the 80s . Its funny that Next Gen seems older to me than the original that seems more timeless.

"He initially experienced difficulty fitting in with his less-disciplined castmates. In interviews, he recalled with embarrassment a time when he scolded the main cast for being unprofessional in his opinion, by saying "We're not here... to have fun!" Furthermore, Stewart stated that his "spirits used to sink" whenever he was required to memorize and recite technobabble. He eventually came to better understand the cultural differences between the stage and television and relaxed to a degree at work, and his favourite technical line became "spacetime continuum"...

"Stewart remained close friends with his fellow Star Trek actors and became their advocate with the producers when necessary. Marina Sirtis credited Stewart with "at least 50%, if not more" of the show's success because others imitated his professionalism and dedication to acting. Jonathan Frakes said that, with some shows he'd been on, there were actors who showed up without having read the script, but Stewart had "set such a high bar for preparation. We all came to work in the morning completely prepared. We knew our lines and had broken down the script"

By a million galaxies the best Star Trek captain and actor. Just an incredible loss.

He made Star Trek TNG dramatic and meaningful. The farce of more recent shows makes Star Trek a comical disaster compared to the brilliance of TNG largely due to Patrick Stewart.

Absolutely…his ST rescued the franchise and gave it a bit of gravitas it has lost very quickly with the absolutely terrible garbage ST is these days. the TNG, DS9 and VOY was peak ST and ST First Contact the best movie.

ENGAGE Mr Stewart and RIP

DS9 was good quality but I didn’t care for it as to me Star Trek is exploring new worlds where DS9 was more like a Babylon5 drama - good but different. Voyager was not bad but the characters much less interesting except 7of9 of course. Didn’t care for Janeway and the basalt voice.

Don’t like the Paramoint crap escort Picard was quite good

What, you didn't like Captain Janeway?
Did anybody? That shrill nasal voice - omg!

this is why they added Jeri Ryan to make us forget about how annoying Janeway was…and that outfit they gave 7of9? Stuff of legends!!!!!!!!

Well they also brought in Jery Ryan to replace Jennifer Lien as Kes. I wasn't sad to see Kes leave, that was a forgettable character.

I also appreciated the outfits worn by Jolene Blalock as T'Pol in Star Trek Enterprise.

Yes, that outfit comes in a clear 2nd all time to 7of7. Kes was a wasted character for sure

Enterprise had its moments but overall fell short.

I had high hopes for Strange New Worlds after a strong start but last few seasons have mostly been dreadful. This past season has an amazing first episode then fell into absolute crap - almost more comedy than drama and they continue to NOT explore strange new worlds which is the point of Star Trek. Super disappointed what they did to the show .
