Sorry to see this. I saw him warm up for The Clash, who warmed up for The Who at Shea in October of 1982.
I think that there was 1 one the 12th and 1 on the 13th.

neon sign is the dead giveaway. Anyone who saw a show at that great club remembers that sign.Also, Tramps is the place where he came up with his alter ego, Buster Poindexter.

My favorite piece of David Johansen trivia is in the film Let It Ride, he plays Richard Dreyfuss' friend, and in one scene he is wearing a Bushwood Country Club baseball cap. So, in my head, the film exists in the same universe as Caddyshack and Johansen was a former caddy at Bushwood (how else we he have acquired the cap?).
I did too! One of my favorite concerts ever. I sang every song. My ears didn't stop ringing for two days. A record.
This has always stood out to me as a perfect example of a particular kind of swaggy sound
