Agree, whether it's coaches or players they can do whatever they feel is in their best interests. School should also do the same thing.

ESPN+ paywall article. They spoke to 6 coaches/scouts and all think they will be lose lopsided against Oregon. They think Colorado players play with passion but they don't have enough of talent to keep up with better teams. OL is an issue and not being able to run is also an issue. Sanders has been hit 55 times this year, most in college. Defense is considered fairly simple. If everything goes well, 6-8 wins is prediction about their potential.
IMO if he does that, he's done a great job for year 1 as far as on the field results.

It's entirely possible he's very narcissistic. I wouldn't think that to be unusual in great coaches.
The irony with such people is, they can be very effective and a very positive influence in player's lives. Yeah, they're using the players (and the media and everyone else) to get what they want. But by the same token, they're very predictable, so players and the media can use them, manipulate them, as long as they can be useful to them.
It's not exactly a great and caring relationship, it's pretty fake and cold. But it can be beneficial to all parties.
Not saying that's the case here. But it's possible.
I think that's what's healthiest for everyone. Except maybe us fans, who often respond like we caught our significant other sleeping with someone else.

Deion has always like kids and coaching them.
People don't know Sanders was a high school offensive coordinator (Trinity Christian School) for three years before Jackson. Before and during that time, Sanders was doing youth leagues. He still does camps for youths. A good number of CFB players know Deion from his camps and thats a reason he gets into convos with opposing players. Some of those players are trying to transfer..
Right now Colorado is filling-up with money, talent and attention - its not a team "doing well" but is a juggernaut rewriting the book on CFB in the new Portal/NIL era. Sanders is in a beautiful location where the college appreciates the scene. How many colleges will let Deion wear a 5 lb crucifix and do away with captains and use Ls and Ds for leaders and Dawgs? Deion told Sapp to come coach and that he doesn't have to stay to 9PM and put-in 60 hr weeks. Try THAT with Schiano.
The corporate CFB programs wont interest Dieon. I wouldn't completely rule out FSU or a team Deion knows well and loves but right now they are all dinosaurs and Colorado is the new model. Other teams are stuck with one foot in traditional CFB and the new Portal/NIL model thats moving past semi-pro to pro. Shedeur has high paying deals with Mercedes, Kentucky Fried. Tom Brady line and Gatorade among others.
Think those deals would be worth more if he played at Bama or OSU? No because Buffs have all the eyes and electricity - setting TV records. Recruits and Players are banging on the doors to get in. Deione doesn't even have to fly around the country recruiting. if he doesn't want. All this is not a new page but a new era and Buffs caught lightening in a bottle. The main threat as I see it is Sanders health and that's a biggie

At this point I'm not sure what's worse anymore - making a dirty hit that busted a #1 recruit's liver in the moment of play, or people who calmly watch replays and make excuses for dirty hits. The players color isn't an issue because many black players were doing cheap shots as well - one being tossed for targeting.
If JJ Watt, Richard Sherman, Micah Parsons and other pro players were shocked by the dirty play then that's the bottom line. There are cheap shot and sucker punch type dirty plays, We see a lot more cheap shots than sucker punches and those should not be excused. Football is hard enough without being sucker punched when ball is dead and the player is relaxing but still tangled-up with another defender

The targeting was dirty but it was the kind of dirty we see every week - Shedeur at least had option to drop and take a sack.

The league and State coaches had the option to put a penalty/suspension on after the game like other conferences/coaches have but they chose to let it fester and Sander's wasn't going to keep attached to the drama.

I think what happens with Sanders is this- he is like a warrior who may wins tons of medals but not the guy you really want in a foxhole with you. I would feel like if I got injured, he is leaving my *** there as he is trying to figure out how he can get his own *** out of there and look like a hero.

The hate comes from the RU blind Schiano apologists. They realize Schiano should have been gone last year for a horrific unwatchable season. They constantly give excuses like patience, facilities , inherited a bad team, NIL, etc.
What Deion stepped into was far worse then Rutgers on every level. Deion in 3 weeks has taken every excuse Schiano loyalists have and literally blown it out of the water.
They are pissed if Deion was here what we could have been. So now they are praying Schiano makes a bowl game but realize he will never have the impact Deion has had.l so the hate builds.
Deion has to fail because everything they believe for the last 4 years has been pulled out from under them .
Schiano clearly has made strides this year in the first 3 weeks against inferior talent but it is NO where near the impact Deion has had. He has a good chance tomorrow but his game plan and adjustments will be crucial.

I dunno. I like GS more for the person he appears to be than for the coach he appears to be.
If GS was a total *******, I would be far less patient with him. Same with any coach.

And the thing I was trying to say was not even factual but in response to the question of why some people just don't like him.
It was the best I could come up with. The guy will do things to be a hero but there is just something about him that some people just get an uneasy feel about.
Myself- if he came to the house recruiting...I am sure I would have a blast with him, but almost no chance he leaves with my son's verbal.
As I write- I think it just came to me. I remember people saying how there are certain HC's that you could meet in a packed gymnasium and even though there are thousands of people, many much more important that you, when that coach stopped to talk to you for 5 seconds, they made you feel like you were the only person in the room. I had heard that about Urban Myer. Greg actually has that as well. He talks to a fan in a crowded room and that fan walks away feeling it was such a great one on one. With Dion, no matter how earnest he may be, it always feels like he is there to put on a show for everyone else.
