the premier league starts up tomorrow with Liverpool opening the season vs Norwich City.

Who is winning the league? Top 4? Dark Horse to break into top 6?

Manchester City -Champs
Liverpool
Arsenal
Tottenham

Everton is my dark horse to break into top 6

Agree on Everton and think Leicester might surprise.

Think Sheffield United, Aston Villa, and Brighton get relegated.

Arsenal has a terrible back line even with the additions yesterday. Luiz isn't so much an addition though. They have a lot of fire power up front but don't see them finishing top 4.

Excited to watch Pulisic playing for my Blues.

Man City
Liverpool
Tottenham
Chelsea

Everton and Wolves most likely to surprise. Think the amount of money coming in to the Premier league is going to allow a couple teams not in the "Big 6" to compete this year and beyond.

Wolves are likely to make the Europa group stage, so the heavy schedule might hold them back.

I like some of Everton’s moves but the defense could have used some more help.

Unbelieveable that Man U finally dealt with their deficiencies on defense, then left their midfield a mess.

HeavenUniv.

Didn’t the England soccer season end about ten minutes ago. They must have one of the shortest breaks in sports, plus that whole playing non-league games while you are playing league games must lead to players careers being shortened. Seems too much to me.Not a soccer fan, but best friend is a huge Everton guy. Wife buys him Everton stuff from overseas for Christmas.

Not just England, European soccer in general only has about a six week break between season end and next season's preseason training. And sometimes the players are on international duty during that time.

I think West Ham made a lot of great moves also so I'm going throw them into the conversation with Wolves and Everton.

Leicester has a great midfield and forward in Vardy but with Maguire gone not sure they'll have the back line to gear up again.

As a Wolves fan I agree with this, if we make group stage. Nuno has been playing full strength sides in the qualifying games so far.

That said,we have a very tough matchup in Torino next round so I'd say there's a very good chance we won't qualify for the group stage.

I don't see anyone cracking top 6. Leicester is overrated and Everton and West Ham always spend but never seems to translate on the field.

I wouldn't be surprised if Man Utd struggled though, still can't believe they made Ole the permanent boss last year.

For those of you in Lower Manhattan thinking of sneaking out of work I recommend The Irish American Pub on John Street. A Liverpool watch bar. They have a special room for LFC watching called the Boot Room.

John St. - blast from my past. Worked at a startup there from 99-01. Spent many a night at some pub on this street. I think it was this one, not sure if the name is the same.

Was always an Arsenal fan, but may switch to Chelsea due to Pulisic. I just love watching him play the game. Best US player in my lifetime.
Agreed - will be watching Chelsea a lot to see Pulisic - hope he's successful. Have been rooting for Liverpool the past few years, as I like Klopp and their attacking style of play. I think this year they might win the EPL, after getting over the hump in the UEFA Champions League last year. For me it's ABC - anyone but City, lol.

Spurs have had many USA players over the years, one of the reasons I started supporting them years ago.

I’m thinking we’re at the beginning of a few years of solid competition amongst a “top 9”

City
Liverpool
Tottenham
Leicester

Arsenal (added upon editing)
Chelsea
United
Wolves
Everton

Wolves are good but it's very premature to think they'll have a run of sustained success. They just came up to the Prem last year and let's see what happens with the extra competition in Europa does to wear them down.

Erikson came on and the game changed. Missing many first team players. Usually play to the level of the competition.

Aston Villa got that 9th minute goal and parked the bus for the rest of the match. Spurs had a bunch of chances in the first half and knew it was a matter of time to breakthrough. No Son (suspended), Verthongen, Alli, Sessegnon, Foyth or LoCelso.

Like what I saw from Ndombele, after his goal he seemed to loosen up and showed his skills. If Erikson stays and Lo Celso is as advertised we will have a great midfield.

Had to head out when it was 1-1 after about 75 minutes, but you could see how Spurs were just all over AV at that point. Not surprised they scored 2 more, but AV really fell apart defensively on a couple of those goals, negating a couple of great saves by Heaton. Chelsea - ManU should be fun tomorrow...

Forgettable debut for Pulisic and Chelsea. ManU blowing Chelsea out 4-0 with just a few minutes left. Pulisic came in in the 2nd half and has given the ball away cheaply a couple of times and hasn't really shown much - he can obviously do much better. By the way, ManU has a ton of young talent and McGuire is really a nice steadying force in the back, so watch out for them this year.

Chelsea’s defensive structure was picked apart. They were left wide open. Maybe a healthy Kante will help but Lampard has a lot of work to do to fix that.

We are here to stay in top half of prem for as long as Fosun are owners and we keep the Jorge Mendes connection.

I still question the ability of ManU's midfield to break down teams, and predict they will drop too many points against lesser teams that just pack it in to negate the speed of ManU's forwards, but they are awful impressive to watch on a fast break.

Man U is one of those that wouldn't surprise you to win it all or finish (barely) out of the top 4.

I am not as excited for the season as I have been in past years. I pull for Newcastle and not having Rafa as manager diminishes my hopes for a good season. I think we going to be fighting off relegation all year. Kind of how I feel about our upcoming football season. Not a lot of reasons for optimism.

I feel bad for Newcastle fans because (similar to the Knicks or the Ottawa Senators) the team has a solid fanbase but the long time issues with ownership just destroys the team.

Spurs fan first but also liked Queens Park Rangers. QPR is finally battling there way back up the lower leagues. I’m hoping they can get back into the Premier League soon. Aston Villa was once a top team but have fallen. Got back to the premier league after several years relegated.

Aston Villa is a nice story. ,A former power relegated and nearly bankrupt last summer now back in the League. If only my Newcastle club could get new owners. (sigh)
