OT: Premerge for North Ms lawns

It’s that time of year... what’s the best premerge for Bermuda lawns in North Mississippi?

Before your grass starts coming out spray roundup to kill all the winter and early spring weeds. You can spread something like Preen out for preemerge.

Mowed my weeks a couple of weeks ago. Backyard has all the golf course weeds in it. Front yard in good shape.

And it's going to get worse this coming week. Starting tonight. Another 6" this week isn't out of the question.

Put down roundup today as I missed my fall preemergent. Winter weeds everywhere. Might hit it one more time next week with roundup and then planning on doing the first of three split applications using prodiamine 65 WDG the third week of Feb.

I should have just hired someone to take care of this. First home and it’s ridiculous the amount of time it takes and effort just to make your yard NOT look awful.

i thought you could put down roundup only if the grass was fully dormant. Maybe I’m wrong. We put down prodiamin in early January to prevent poanna from germinating and then just put out Hi-yield turf weed and grass stopper.

You can hit it with roundup while dormant or it’s just barely spiking out of the ground. Bermuda grass could survive a direct nuclear attack.

I’m pretty sure my grass is 100% dormant. We just had 5” of snow yesterday

I worked in my yard today and I already have enough green bermuda that if I used roundup I wouldn't have to mow it until June or July. Made that mistake once.

I have St Augustine and it has not been fully dry in couple of months

Worried about it, and also being able to apply something to keep the weeds from completely overtaking
