I'm in the market for a bluetooth speaker I can pair with my phone. Not one of those wifi home systems. I've looked at the Bose Soundlink, Beats Pill, and the Jawbone Jambox. Thought I'd ask the Pack for recommendations. Any of you 17er's had any experience with any of these or any other brands I couldn't think of?

You can go cheap on this and wind up with crap or you can drop some money and get something that is ridiculously good. The Pill is awesome and will shock you with the level of fidelity it can produce from such a small enclosure. Or you can YETI-up and drop several hundred on the Bose and get the same sound the Pill produces for half the price.

I had the jawbone for a few months before the soundlink came out. Sold the jawbone as quick as I could and have enjoyed the soundlink ever since. There was no comparison between those two. Can't speak to the pill, but in my experience over the years with portable audio, you get what you pay for.

ETA - "drop several hundred" = $199.99 in BOSEspeak, I suppose...

I won a jawbone mini jambox and I am very pleased with the sound. Looked it up on eBay and its around 100 bucks. I guess it depends on what you want it for. To me $100 buck jawbone would be just fine. If you want to impress whoever, spend 200 or 400 for the im sure a little better sound and a lot more prestige, go for it.

I have a UE Boom as well. Sound quality is amazing. Sounds like an expensive home stereo and can get really really loud. I left mine outside in a thunderstorm at deer camp one time and it worked like a charm when I fired it up.

I listened to everything Best Buy had and went with a Sony SRS-X7. I like the volume level and bass response.

Look, none of these things are going to thump much. But this X7 has good sounding bass that doesn't distort real easy or sound artificial.

I wanted to try that HK brand thing that 66 pointed out, but the demo of it was broken at BBY.
