It's chicken and dumplings and if you haven't eaten any you're missing out.True not all chicken and dumplings are good. My mom made the best. If you've never had them and want to eat some of the best stop by The Cracker Barrel. They make the best and you eat them at supper time. OFC
First I ever heard it being called pastry was when I visited a college friend in SC.Told me me we were having pastry for supper.Thought it was strange to be eating Little Debbie's for supper.Sat down at table and said this chicken and dumplings and they had no idea of what I was talking about

My wife cooks great chicken n pantry but my mother made great rutabagas & dumplings.
The pastry is always made from flour and the dumplings always made from cornmeal. I haven't met many cooks that make great rutabagas & dumplings.

i say I'm going out to mow the grass but I'm not because all my grass is dead and I'm just mowing weeds instead.
I have the kids cut the grass, then I weed-eat around the house
I have never mowed the lawn or mowed the grass but have cut the grass in the yard 1000's of times.

Tonight my wife and I ate fried cabbage, great northern beans . corn bread and fried weenies. Now that's supper. If you had leg of lamb, sauteed asparagus, garlic roasted potatoes and sour dough dinner rolls I guess you can call that dinner. OFC
Makes my mouth water, Sky. A bowl of nanner puddin for dessert would top that meal off nicely.
When first married 35 years ago one of my most memorable meals the wife cooked was fried Spam, fried corn meal cakes (like pancakes) fried okra, and the best kind of pea ever, FEILD PEAS with Snaps from her Parents garden and sliced tomatoe from my garden. I still love Spam today or is it Treet?
