I thought MLB put in a pitch clock this year. Did they remove it for the World Series ? I've tried to watch the series but it's just too painfully slow. Was watching a batter at 2-1, went to brush my teeth and came back it was 3-1.

I'm a big baseball fan but this series has been brutal to watch. I might watch game seven if it makes it that far (probably ends tonight).

I think you may need to brush your teeth longer. :)

But I agree, playoff baseball (at most levels) drags on forever and unless you have a vested interest (rooting or gambling), it's irritating to watch an entire game. I go to the Big Ten baseball tourney most years, and some of those games drag forever as coaches unload their bullpens to stay alive or get the day off in the winners' bracket.

You have to watch madern day MLB with a different attitude. It's like BBQ and smoking cigars, some things are meant to be enjoyed slowly.

Do they add 30 seconds to every break? I thought I read that somewhere.

Plus, teams use deeper bullpens in the post season since they won’t need 5 starters. Managers are not hesitant to use every guy in the pen either, with more days off. It all adds up to longer games.

Then, sometimes they play 18 innings.
