Any place selling "corned pork belly reuben" is definitely not traditionally Jewish. (Traditional Jews do not eat pork.)
Good point. "Traditionally" was a poorly chosen word. What I meant to say was modern turns on traditional Jewish dishes.

So, many of your fine suggestions look awesome - but because I am a slacker, they are all booked.

So I'm down to:

Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse

and

Marmont Steakhouse

The former looks more classy and has better reviews, it's also more expensive. Whereas I'm drawn to the latter because it's closer to our hotel and a little more casual. At the end, I just want good service and good steak.

Try the Continental Midtown bro - tremendous food, small plates so you and your wife order 3 or 4 for the table. Great bar - cool atmosphere.

Okay...here is shack's list

1.) Butcher and Singer for sure...

2.) The Continential Midtown OR Old City is great for apps and martinis...been out on a few dates there over the years

3.) AMADA for tapas...great date place

4.) Village Wisky in Rittenhouse

5.) Reading Terminal Market for LUNCH...a must.

6.) I like Starr's The Dandelin in the Ritternhouse area if you are in the mood for a upscale bar scene

7.) Twenty Mannings isn't as good as it used to be...

8.) Max Brenner's is a good lunch spot...good date place for the lunch spot

9.) Is Cuba Libre still open...or is only the AC location...this is a good option

10.) Heard good things about Zahav's...have not had a chance to take it

11.) Bistro Romano is a cute place for Italian in old city....not awesome food but good and near old city to get a cocktail after

Hope this helps

Village Whiskey which is a Garces restaurant and Dandelion are great places. I recommend Dandelion for a drink before or after dinner. You'll never get in Village Whiskey at a reasonable hour.

The one time I went we had to make a 10:30 reservation so we actually drank at the Dandelion and one other place before heading over. I almost got Shake Shack to hold me over.

Had the best time ever at the @pigirontheatre cabaret, La Vie Bo-Ham featuring the amazing #marthagrahamcracker at the Trocadero Theatre last night.

Skipping the Spa stuff all together and just exploring today.

The Prime Rib: 2 1/2 stars.

Arrived at 6:30. Walked through the nicely decorated, dark, classy bar area and main room. But then we were seated alone in a weird side room, away from the central room with the ambiance and music. Wobbly table was annoying.

And, there were multiple guys in casual clothes- guys in jeans, untucked shirts, no jackets. Spoiled the classy atmosphere. Also annoying. Hotel-restaurant, all-comers vibe instead of classy steakhouse.

Just as we sat I ordered a drink, a dirty gin martini, and he brought it but then never brought a drink menu or one list for my girlfriend to look at. No olives in a dirty gin martini? It was a good drink but I thought that omission was strange. I had to call him back to ask for a wine list. Wine selection not impressive, and overpriced.

Good food, but just... good. Prime rib was quality cut and cooked nicely but didn't blow me away. Filet mignon was good. Sides were... Just Ok, yet way overpriced. Creamed spinach fresh but not very tasty. Same with the corn and the Brussel sprouts. Very good dessert. Overall value was not there for high prices.

Good waiter service. Free potato skin app for first timers. It was literally just the skin. Good but too crispy.

Piano player was very good. A room away, unfortunately.

Overall poor price to value ratio, and some other sour notes, knocks off one star from 3-ish star food. It was easily twice as expensive as it was worth. Will not return here unless someone else is buying.

Been to almost every steakhouse in Philly, some multiple times.

Best food is Barclay Prime. Best atmosphere is Del Friscos. I really don't like the lighting in Barclay Prime - too dim.

If you're looking for the best burger head to Village Whiskey as recommended. Also if you're down for a dive bar head to Royal Tavern in South Philly, a couple blocks from Pat's/Geno's.

If you're looking for a cheesesteak don't waste your time at Pat's/Geno's. Jims on 4th and South.

Lot of times you have a dinner reservation and then go to the dandelion or the conti for drinks later ...and still need a freaking reservation for the dandelion as well

Dandelion also does nice brunch on sat and Sunday also

This is true. We were lucky to even get a bar spot that night at Dandelion!

There's one other great beer spot more towards City Hall but for the life of me I can not think of the name right now.
