That’s why we are the best country in the world. Must be doing something right. We do that as a nation every year, no?
You are missing the point. For the players, money is money. For LIV, getting sponsors from Aramco is like right pocket to the left pocket. They need main stream sponsors so it can stand up by itself. Saudi can sponsor many sporting events. But companies are not going to sponsor Saudi. How?? As I said no one cares, except you and Chamblee I guess. Europeans certainly don't care. The DP Tour is sponsored by the UAE which is another human rights issue country run by Arabs. FIFA is locked in step with Qarter who has enslaved workers to finish building the Stadiums for the World Cup. Yet no one is going bonkers as much as you are.
I am not missing the point at all. Your narrow thinking is the problem. There is a World of opportunity to sponsor the tour and it's players. It doesn't have to be current sponsors of the PGA or Saudi companies. There are sponsors of golf all over the world that you keep ignoring. You are missing the point. For the players, money is money. I guess we’ll wait and see which company will sign up for the upcoming LIV events.I am not missing the point at all. Your narrow thinking is the problem. Name me the top FIFA sponsors. Premier League. F1, DP Tour etc. I bet you have no clue.I guess we’ll wait and see which company will sign up for the upcoming LIV events.
I posted the Portland field above. How many are worth investing in. Especially if they are playing 8 LIV events which nobody watches, 4 majors and possibly a few Asian, DP events.Name me the top FIFA sponsors. Premier League. F1, DP Tour etc. I bet you have no clue.
Again, are any of those leagues owned by Saudi?Name me the top FIFA sponsors. Premier League. F1, DP Tour etc. I bet you have no clue.
Phil was after the media rights, not bigger purses. He needed sure things. This is not the leverage Phil was talking about.
Cannizzaro is very dialed in. Funny how now the PGA is acting. Like him or not this is the leverage Phil mentioned…it does help the PGA golfers and PGA had chance to stop LIV but it was their “obnoxious greed” that got in the way.
I'm not overstating it. Simply countering that they won't ever be televised or have zero sponsors as be depicted by some on here.I posted the Portland field above. How many are worth investing in. Especially if they are playing 8 LIV events which nobody watches, 4 majors and possibly a few Asian, DP events.
I think you are overstating the opportunity a bit. There are sponsorship opportunities but its likely Chico's Bail Bonds level sponsorships.
No. But they take money from them. And there is a 100% sponsored golf tournament paid, played and owned by the Saudi already on the DP Tour.Again, are any of those leagues owned by Saudi?
It’s now part of the Asian tour.No. But they take money from them. And there is a 100% sponsored golf tournament paid, played and owned by the Saudi already on the DP Tour.
And PGA players were allowed to play in it even though it's played, paid and owned by the same fund the supports the LIV.It’s now part of the Asian tour.
Correct. With permission from the PGA tour. And PGA players were allowed to play in it even though it's played, paid and owned by the same fund the supports the LIV.
Because they are owned the UAE. Not really friends. Neither are interested in human rights.Correct. With permission from the PGA tour.
Why do you think the DP tour dumped the event?

It's a limited field cosanctioned tournament of the PGA Tour and DP Tour. No surprise. Field has been set alreadyScottish Open appears to have told LIV players to pound sand.
Not the biggest just the 3 in July.DP tour make announcements. Fines for playing LIV events and no access to biggest DP tour events.
Surprised it took so long before some clown would have bring politics into this thread.Saudi Arabia is a distraction. Do you know who gives Saudi Arabia more money than anybody? The American CIA. Do you know why? Because they are our chief informants on all things in the Middle East. Why do you think the Saudi royal family is so tight with the Bush family? Because Old Man Bush was CIA Director before he was President. We've been paying Saudi Arabia ridiculous amounts of money for decades.
I'm a Republican. It's got nothing to do with politics. Politics is a red-herring being used by the PGA to try and brand these guys that bolted to LIV as traitors to the country. It's nonsense. The Saudi royal family is the USA's like third closest ally (after Israel and UAE) in the entire region.Surprised it took so long before some clown would have bring politics into this thread.
Gotterup made the cut today. What does he need to do to get some status on korn ferry or pga tour?
He's officially a member of PGA Tour - Canada which is a step below Korn Ferry. I don't believe he has official Tour status.Gotterup made the cut today. What does he need to do to get some status on korn ferry or pga tour?

@rcube1994
Chris missed out at receiving a 1 season exemption into Korn Ferry because he didn't finish Top 5 in the PGATour University rankings. I believe he finished 8th. That's why he's in the Canadian Tour for the remainder of 2022. He does get to skip the first round of next season's KF qualifying which is a big plus.

What do you think "blood money" means? Whose blood is it?Has anyone called them traitors to the country? I've seen traitors to the Tour who gave them their starts. I have seen the 9/11 people call them out for accepting what they claim is blood money to wash their reputation.
But have guys like Koepka and Johnson been called US traitors?
that blood money isn't calling them traitors, just implying their moral fiber isn't as strong as it should be because of the money involved. What do you think "blood money" means? Whose blood is it?
So is the US government US traitors for buying Saudi oil and begging them to produce more?Has anyone called them traitors to the country? I've seen traitors to the Tour who gave them their starts. adding this was pouring oil on a flame , instead of putting it out could ignite a fire.So is the US government US traitors for buying Saudi oil and begging them to produce more?
Let's all take a step back and think before posting.
He has a long way to go. As it's been said, the top college players find out quickly everyone is as good or better than them on the Korn Ferry just as Korn Ferry players do when they get to the Tour.Didnt know if there was some way to get bumped up to Korn Ferry if he accumulates enough fedex points. Couple years ago zalatoris had temporary membership on tour but he had a bunch of top 10s and think he was leading korn ferry, and that was the weird covid year.
He's looking solid at pga events so hopefully he can make quick work of the canada tour and move on up.
I agree that patriotism shouldn't be part of the conversation, but vehemently disagree that the PGA (and frankly many carrying their water in the sports media) haven't made it part of the conversation. The concept of "blood money" is that the PGA is saying Saudi Arabia killed Americans and now these golfers are taking their money and now the blood of these dead Americans is on their hands. That's what it means. It's reprehensible, but that's what they are saying.that blood money isn't calling them traitors, just implying their moral fiber isn't as strong as it should be because of the money involved.
This is a LIV vs PGA matter, nothing to do with the USA .
Don't matter if one takes the PGA or LIV's side, being patriotic to the USA or not isn't involved and shouldn't be part of this conversation
Pumpkin Ridge has hosted LPGA event. I wish we had quality courses around here where I could join for only $12K. I assume that is a limited membership or weekday only.
Hits keep on coming. Juicy part was it only cost 12k to join this club.
So is the US government US traitors for buying Saudi oil and begging them to produce more?
