so you seem more angered about the statement more so than the fact this is happening within sports…

Not angry. And not justifying others actions. Explaining why Phil’s statement was bad and the differentiator. I mean, this guy was beloved. Not like all these sponsors were dying to sever ties with Phil,

and these same sponsors continue to partner with other golfers…who looked the other way when it came to Saudis in February.

just so hypocritical by organizations trying to look good…funny

None of it is good, but none of their sponsors wanted to cut ties, presumably. Phil forced the issue. Again, unfortunate because his quote was leaked by the author.

very very unfortunate for Phil.

Maybe we wrap this up as follows:

No question dealing with the Saudis doesn’t place you on the moral high ground. Questionable all around. Bad, if you will.

Phil spelled it out. Called attention to the fact he knew it. Made it crystal clear. Also bad. Not excused because of others actions, and dumb to boot. unfortunate that he said it to an author, presumably in an on the record interview. But bad and dumb.

and that forced the hands of Callaway, Amstel, et Al.

that didn’t force the hands of those sponsors though.

the outcry over what he said by the typical Twitter and social media mob is what forced their hand. The same mob that has no clue that what Phil admitted to goes on in every sport by a majority of athletes.

lets end there! Lol. Have a good night

Phil is the whipping boy because he wanted it. He was the most vocal and critical of the PGA Tour. Remember Phil calling the PGA Tour obnoxious greedy? LMAO. This is why he is the whipping boy.
The PGA Tour is greedy. They make tons of cash from many areas including the Golf Channel in which none goes to the players.
Again you didn't answer the real question. Never seen you complain about other sports taking blood money. Just a Phil hater stirring the pot. 🤡 Try posting with real answers to the all sports question and actually real quotes not your Phil hatred bias crap

No fans or sponsors have any issues with players going to the Saudi league. There are many players still going. Phil’s problem is that people are finding out who he really is.

Again, Phil’s problem was the social media mob that cancelled him for what he said

That was true of corporate sponsors. That was an easy decision. But he lost the fans with his act of trying to revolutionize the game but turns out he just needs money. Stiffing Bones on 900k? His “people’s champion” image is gone.

Had his quote not led to such reaction, loads of big names were ready to join. Wouldn’t have lost fans

Where are the lawyers in all of this?
How can the PGA Tour prevent him from playing in tournaments for which he has earned an exemption?

Why even bother? They’re joining this league cause they’re unhappy with the PGA Tour…why get lawyers involved?

they’d still be allowed to non tour events…such as WGC, the 4 majors, and the Ryder Cup.

If you’re talking about the upcoming PGA, Phil withdrew. The PGA would have allowed him to play.

So you continue to ignore answering the real question. What a clown. Glad you are ok with blood money but hate Phil.

Phil is certainly the most personable golfer I’ve interacted with and it’s not even close (this was a decade ago, btw).

You need to read the sports section more carefully. Phil has earned an exemption to play in the Saudi League? How did you come to that decision?

Reading comprehension is another of your poor skills. It's you that is acting like Putin. Opinion not facts. Still not answering why you are so upset about Phil but ok about many major sports taking blood money many years before this proposed league. So you are ok with the rest of the sports taking money but Phil is the problem. You are a complete stupid hypocrite. I've already said I'm not the biggest Phil fan, just puzzled by clowns like you that ignore the facts but jump on a guy you hate because it fits you CE narrative. I also see you didn't defend your 3rd grade comment that the Saudi press wouldn't ask tough questions and the rest of the world wouldn't be allowed to talk to Phil in London! How stupid was that? Keep posting dumb crap.

I have answered your question many times. You just don’t like my answer. Maybe it’s you that can’t read or comprehend logic. I’m sorry you didn’t get my joke to your Saudi press. I thought Saudi, press, chopped up, and consulate were obvious give always.

No you haven't. Let's take your hated Phil out the question. Why are you ok with all other sports taking blood money? You only explained hating Phil's comments. Answer the question why are you aren't bothered by all the other sports taking the money. For many years before Phil.

Haha. You don't know?? Mr. Expert?? Tell me how much Golf Channel money goes the the players.
Golf Channel is owned by NBC. The broadcasting contract between NBC entities and the PGA tour goes into the revenue line. Just like broadcast revenue from cbs or espn/abc. I recall 55% of revenues go to the players. This includes broadcast revenue.

keep trying.

One last time. Fans (me included) and sponsors are ok with players (including Phil) going to the Saudi league. There are many players still going and their sponsors are still sticking with them. People are turning on Phil because he was the most vocal about how “obnoxious greed” the PGA Tour is and that’s why he is leaving to reshape the tour. Turns out he just needs the money because he is a terrible gambler. Fans are turning on him because they think he is a phony. You and @mikemarc1 can still be Phil’s fans. I’m not trying to convince you otherwise. It’s you trying to justify it.

he’s correct. 55% of PGA TOUR revenue goes to the players. (This includes purses due tournaments)
So where does the other 45% go? Some to charity but a lot of folks making more then players.

WhiteBus - without being arrogant I challenge you to find anyone that has posted in this thread that has been as spot on as me.

I posted the PGA would not give waivers to anyone that requested them to London and I was correct.

I posted that Phil would bail on the PGA and was correct.

I posted that Phil had to public ally apologize before playing the PGA/PGA tour and am correct.

I posted the PGA of America would uphold the PGA tour requirements that Phil public ally apologize and I was right.

I posted that the golf channel revenues are nothing more than broadcast revenues and know I’m 100% right.

ive earned the right in this thread to not take your ********. Prove I’m wrong or shut the hell up. You don’t know what the hell you’re talking about.

most of the remaining money goes to charity, not “some”.
A ton goes to charity but there are a ton of employees working for the tour and many make very big salaries. Just like people working for any professional league.

I guess whitebus thinks those experts should work for free!! Lol
