Interesting only a week before the Super Bowl, the only threads that appear to be important are about NFL racism and about Eileen Gu, Olympic skier, whether she’s a traitor?

Has Trump affected the way this country thinks? There isn’t even a Super Bowl thread on the board.

Wait it's the Super Bowl this week? These guys are too busy watching Love Boat reruns 😆

Or …” hate the sin not the sinner.” The only thing we watched ( wife) is the figure skating. She enjoys the ice skating competition and I’m supportive of her . After 55 years together and still enjoying our journey through this virus / pandemic.

And are you really going to try and argue that the ‘36 and ‘40 olympics didn’t help solidify German nationalism and put Hitler into the spotlight?

oh-please
Hitler had been in the spotlight since the late 20's. He came to power in 1933 and had been beating that drum for years.

He won’t understand about that part of history. Some are very accepting of the CCP and their intents. The scary part is how many governments foreign and perhaps domestic have monetary ties to them . We see it everyday and it is blatantly flagrant in scope. Buying up land, real estate arbitrarily is ok in the USA by foreign nationals. Try and buy the same someplace else on the globe. Not so easy is it?
Remember when we were all scared Japan was buying up US Real Estate? The US real estate market is virtually bottomless and no country can possibly buy and control that market.

So if a dual national revoked their US citizenship - in this case to compete for China - do they need a visa to re-enter the country despite an address in the US as their legally recognized place of residence?
Yes. Gu is no longer a citizen of the United States, unless China broke their own rules which is entirely possible.

Gu is still a citizen of the US. China made an exception.
IRS has a list of people who gave up the US citizenship. Gu is not there.

Entirely possible that China would break their own rules but I’m going to need more proof than that.

I think so many of you need to take a visit to the r/Sino sub on reddit. You need to see just how much vile hatred is directed at our country, its people, everything we stand for — all openly on an American social media site:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Sino/

But it’s not shocking, when you know CCP bought significant ownership of reddit

Is this where that Gu woman has been "discussed all over the news for months"?
No wonder I still have little knowledge of her - Reddit would be another social media site that I have no time to bother with.

I need to spend less time on TKR and outside and more time staying up to date on the important Olympic athlete nationality news.

I’ve always been a big fan of the Winter Olympics, especially the sports you don’t see much of any other time like XC skiing, Biathlon, Luge, Bobsled.
On the other hand, the world politics situation with China and Russia is definitely casting a dark shadow over these games to me.

about Eileen Gu, Olympic skier, whether she’s a traitor?
Any generation her decision would have been questioned and the further back in time you went the more frowned upon. The rest of your post is just gibberish so not going to fall into that trap you laid.

but i thought you said covid was nothing more than a cold?

I said Omicron was.

You said it was the world's deadliest disease. Now you are ok with it spreading around.

Are you a Chinese propogandist because you are getting paid or do you do this for free?

Show me yours first.

And you're really denying Covid came from China? Wow.

Why'd you get so cheap and end your premium? You don't even have access to the CE board.

I will say this I'm pretty psyched going to visit NBC in Englewood cliffs tomorrow, my customer. I'm going for sure into the command center which handles all sports, news and cnbc feeds worldwide. Pretty cool to see hundreds of feeds cutting in and out at same time

the commentators last night said some of the athletes thought the setting was pretty cool or something along those lines. my wife and i agreed that it's fugly.

If you are going to build a location with no snow then lean all the way in.
Put the ski jump next to the beach or something.
Or in the middle of a major city next to skyscrapers.

Not sure how I feel about a ski jump next to a nuclear power plant....just saying

I doubt I'll ever get that dystopian landscape out of my head. In four years, that's probably all I'll remember about these games. It's a dilapidated abandoned steel mill or to use the NBC pc term, retired steel mill. Both descriptions one and the same. I'm sure that pond next to it has no life and was probably used as a waste retention pond.

Yes they said, at night the setting was pretty cool. Sounds about right when you can't see anything but lights in the city. During the day, oh boy, what an eyesore that place is.

Hey all I know is this has NOTHING to do with her race. Only dense minds ( you) bring her race into it. She competed against the country of her birth. Reason for that is for $$$$ and CCP endorsements. What is wrong is she is taking the spot of another student at Stanford . There are many other deserving kids of all ethnic races who should be in her spot. Let her live in China from today on I’m sure she’ll love it.

Why is she taking the spot of another student?
Someone who was a candidate for 2021 Presidential Scholar program, a world champion, and scored 1580 in SAT doesn’t deserve to be in Stanford?

It is dreary , drab , uninviting from the visuals they have allowed to be shown. That is what “ green energy “ looks like . Artificial snow ? It would appear a lack of movement anywhere except for the Olympic Village if even then. If we as a nation promoted our military like the CCP we would be called out for it. That’ll never happen though as there are too many cowards in power in most of the ( use this term very lightly now) FREE world.

She gave that all up by competing against her country of birth. Too many loyal and talented students more deserving . That’s why…

Her world championship means nothing to most who have followed this story. Her SAT score is great but there are thousands who did as well and perhaps not as politically connected to Beijing.

It has been discussed before. A lot of Americans have competed for other countries. You guys are mad only because that country is CHINA.

So it’s all about China then. Do you know how many Chinese students studying at Rutgers?
