Breast cancer never completely went away all cancers sucks especially when you fight a good long fight but it still ends up killing a person

I grew up listening to her music, good ole 8 tracks back in the day. She was my first and only crush as a young man! Just thought she was a very classy lady.

I read that she died of breast cancer. I'm not going to Google it, but I believe she already had cancer at least once before. This cancer relapse stuff is about as bad as it gets. I think a lot of the people on the board can relate to that. To beat cancer once is fantastic, but then to have it come back again? That's a nightmare.

I met her once in the mid 80s. I was having a sandwich (not Vegemite) with a friend at Koala Blue, her store that sold Australian stuff on Melrose in Hollywood. She came in to drop off a box of table clothes. She asked us if we liked our food and I told her I liked her store and always stopped there on the way to the Hollywood Bowl. She asked me who was playing that evening and mentioned we should look at something that was a new arrival in her store. She seemed like the girl next door who was running her small business and seemed very nice. And yes, even in jeans, a work shirt and not much makeup she was gorgeous.

RIP Olivia! I just watched part of Grease over the weekend and got to see her sing "Hopelessly Devoted to You". It was like she was singing to me - voice of an angel (her and Karen Carpenter).
