had a VERY close relative of mine suffering with something close to that for almost 10 years. Let me tell you it can ruin the lives of people close to them. That's not an exaggeration and all I will say other than THANK GOD it somehow just went away over time.

Hope this guy gets the help he needs. Seems like a good sign that he’s prioritizing his well being. And thank goodness we live in a time where someone is comfortable enough being open about these issues and not being stigmatized for them. Mental illness is no joke.
