OT: Octavio Dotel Dead at 53

The retired Mets' and Yankees' reliever was among the dead in that Dominican Republic nightclub collapse.

so- he was pulled from the rubble, brought to the hospital and died there.

That really sucks...remember watching him quite a bit as a Met.

I believe they said that the Mayor was dead too.

Former Major League Baseball player Tony Blanco was also killed. His son, Tony Jr is a 19 year old player in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

I remember him when he went to the Astros - filled in at closer when Wagner was injured, then was a perfect setup man for Wagner the following couple of years. RIP.

Sounds like over a 100 dead at that club.
