This isn't really a Callaway thing, any more than it was a Terry Collins thing. The roster is a f*ckin train wreck. Nobody could win with these guys.

Somehow missed this gem--Frazier on the 10 Day DL?
Flores said the Mets are "way better" than they're playing right now and that they will figure it out.

"There's good players here," Flores said. "There's no reason to play this bad. ... New series (coming up). I know we're gonna get out of this."

Remember Harvey's quote at the beginning of the season? Boy, was he right, and he may be the most shocked person of all.
Matt Harvey says the Mets will ‘shock a lot of people’ this season

From the SNY Mets Blog:

Todd Frazier is now on the disabled list with Anthony Swarzak, Jacob deGrom is dealing with an elbow issue and expected to come off the DL to pitch on Sunday, Noah Syndergaard has called his performance 'mediocre,' Jason Vargas has a 13.86 ERA, Michael Conforto has zero punch to his swing, Amed Rosario has been a non-factor since Opening Day, Jay Bruce is on paternity leave, the bullpen is out of sync, and Yoenis Cespedes has leg trouble again.

-Alderson for drafting crap players that has made their MiLB 29th in baseball and only made two trades that didnt backfire (Cespedes and Syndergaard).
-The Wilpons for acting like they're based in Wilkes Barre competing vs the Yankees.
-Selling for allowing the Wilpons to keep the Mets after the Madoff incident only because they were friends. Imagine if he did the same thing in Queens that he did in LA?

All are embarrassing pieces of shites!!!

Jay Bruce is pregnant? I didn't even know he was sexually active.

Also - Harvey's gonna be awfully disappointed when he discovers that the hooker & blow parties in Ohio simply don't compare to the Big Apple.

Lived in Cincinnati for a grand total of 10 months when we were in our 20's. We started planning our exit a few weeks after we moved there.

There was a heavy metal nightclub there called Annies. The only night it was packed was on disco nights.

Quickly came to the conclusion that Mark Twain was right about Cincinnati:
"When the end of the world comes, I want to be in Cincinnati because it's always twenty years behind the times."

We did discover Skyline Chili, which is pretty damn good, and to this day, we make it for dinner. Cinnamon in the sauce is an interesting flavor.

Also reportedly joining the team in Philly is journeyman LOOGY Buddy Baumann. Sadly, it looks like he will be replacing Hansel Robles who is likely headed for the DL. Hard to think that just a few short days ago, Robles was being cruelly mocked by some in this thread. Hope y'all are satisfied.

Loogy. Did not realize that was a thing. Thought you were referring to spittle.
Well, he's a fighter, and we could use one of those.

Why are the Mets picking up recycled players from the worst teams in baseball? So that the Mets can be the worst team in baseball?

Oh, I see. His ERA is 54. The Mets need someone to make Vargas feel better about his ERA.

Just because the Mets picked up another junker from the scrap heap doesn't mean we were wrong for ripping Robles. The case of whiplash he developed from turning his head quickly, watching the ball sail over the fence again was bound to happen...again.

No talent in the farm system. Not much for trade bait on the big club. No real desire to spend on free agents. We will only get cast-offs and rejects in Queens.

You people are so mean. Do you not realize that Hansel Robles is trying as hard as he can? What if he reads this? Worse yet, what if his Mom reads this - on Mother's Day weekend no less?

Robles has sacrificed his knee for us fans, and this is how we thank him? With a litany of rhetorical questions?

Our First Lady has inspired us to Be Best. C'mon guys, you can do better.

A fun fact about our new LOOGY. On April 13, Buddy Baumann (then with the Padres) was involved in a bench clearing brawl. That would earn him a one game suspension. Later in that same game, he made his only appearance of the season, giving up two runs while getting one out. That would earn him a trip to the minors - before he had a chance to serve his suspension.

So... he is serving his suspension tonight, his first night as a Met.

Only relevant score yesterday was 3-1 Mets. Oh yes and the catcher the Mets got in the Harvey trade helped secure the victory with a monster home run

Harvey is in the past now... even if he is so good that he wins 4 Cy Young Awards in the next 3 years.

Harvey's performance was a the top of SNY Mets blog this morning. Just like when a QB leaves RU and plays for another team, fans will keep tabs. I don't wish Harvey an ill will.
