Understood that Yoenis was scheduled for an MRI yesterday on his aching thumb. Any status? Or is his own medical diagnosis of out for 3 games (possibly 3 beautiful days to play Golf) in play?

Nothing has been announced. CBS Sports ticker said Mets would make an announcement today. Knowing the idiocy of the Mets front office and medical staff, I remain nervous until I hear otherwise. MRI apparently did occur yesterday.

“It’s not the first time this thing happened to me,” Cespedes said.
“When I was playing with Oakland it happened a couple times. I would say I will take off three days.”

I love Calloway but why are you having Cespedes be the lead runner in a double steal attempt. Don't do these things with your best player especially one who when he sneezes is always at risk for being injured.

He was due for a mini-vacation. If it wasn't this, it would be something else. Calloway just gave him the reason.
Sorry to disappoint you but he's playing tonight. No games missed.

I love Cespedes. Thrilled he's fine. Where would you reckon I was ever critical of Yo and wanted him out of the lineup per the thread you referenced. The thread specifically stated Yo is our best player and I was second guessing why Calloway would do the double steal with Yo as the lead runner. Head scratching post even for an avid fan such as yourself. And before you get on me for Calloway, he's the best thing to happen to this team managerially since Davey Johnson.

It wasn't your post I quoted.

Can't afford to lose games in which deGrom and Thor are starting. The offense needs to get going.

Curious as to mets fan thoughts on first baseman Peter Alonso at AA Binghamton. Offensively is putting up great numbers batting .400, 8 hr, and 22 rbi so far.

why does callaway keep pinch hitting reyes and pinch running lagares, it should be the other way.
Right now, I'd make the below moves - albeit on a temporary basis for several games:

- Reyes in at SS for Rosario. Rosario looks lost. Let him sit on the pine and watch the game from the dugout for several days.
- Nimmo in CF for Conforto. Conforto looks lost also offensively and some time off may do him good. Hope his shoulder is ok.

I talked about him the other day. The bat is for real it's whether he can play a passable defense at 1B on the major league level. He's surpassing Dom Smith pretty quickly.

I'd cut Reyes not give him more AB's! If anything then move Asdrubal to SS for a game or two to give Rosario a rest and call someone up like McNeil to play 2B.

Cecchini is hitting 342. Take off 30 points for the LV factor and it's still 312 better than McNeils 279.

*jeez my math was off lol.

Come on don't just use BA! McNeil performance in Bingo at this point is more impressive than Cheech in Vegas.

The Mets have long been and continue to be very poor at discovering and developing talent. Especially position players. If you want to be depressed look at this list of their top 30 prospects and some of the numbers they're putting up.

23-24 year old guys batting 200-250 in AA or A ball. Or in some cases below .200

And I was about to say that the Mets are the only team in baseball who has great prospects or MLB rookies. Look at the Yankees, Braves, Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox, Astros, Indians. Brewers, DBacks, etc. They all got YOUNG STUDS coming up or already playing. The studs we had were exposed to the putrid Sling Blade and his asshat pitching coach and the worst trainer/medical staff in pro sports.

Thanks Sandy... and Wilpons.

DeGrom pitching a gem and of course he comes out because he's hurt.

I hope it's not season ending or major surgery type of injury. A Mets Beat Reporter said DeGrom winced when he struck out in 3rd inning and he was also wearing an elbow pad when he was batting - don't know if that was related to discomfort of his elbow that he may have had prior.

Though the Mets are saying "hyper extended" - can you ever believe what they say? They are the founders of fake news in sports and medicine.

For De Grom - who is simply a super classy guy - I can only hope it's not serious and he's back shortly and wishing him a healthy quick speedy recovery,

Anyways, I am seriously bummed; and I am so sick of these injuries to this team year after year
