It’s early but I agree with you. I love what Stearns is doing. Getting Alonso on the cheap is turning out to be brilliant. Now that we are almost 1/4 through the season...The team is at a 100+ win pace
We have 2 guys playing at MVP level. Lindor and Alonso and Soto is all of a sudden on pace for a pretty damn good season too.
Alonso is on pace for 140 RBI and almost 40 HR and crazy that he is on a 60 double pace
Lindor is once again on a near 100 Run/RBI season and 30+ HR 20+ SB
Soto is all of a sudden on a 30+ HR 120+ runs
But, I don't think we are where we are if Acuna and Taylor weren't playing so well.
Marte/McNeil/Nimmo/Vientos/Baty need to figure it out
Pitching - What can you say...Only a couple of bumps in the road but Senga does look like a true ACE. And who could have imagined Canning/Holmes/Mcgill. And Peterson may be proving to be a very solid 2 or 3
And I am starting to believe fully in Stearns...Look at the major FA signings this year that have played
Alonso/Soto/Canning/Holmes
Not going to be on the cheap after this year. But, if he continues, he is showing that he most likely has at least 5 more very good years in him. So, give him an extra 2 and go 7 years and lock up a 500HR HOF guy. It’s early but I agree with you. I love what Stearns is doing. Getting Alonso on the cheap is turning out to be brilliant.
Alonso is playing well but the Mets should be in no hurry to extend him. Even if he continues on this pace (which realistically seems unlikely) I am not sure I understand how that means he has five or more good years left. I know it only takes one team to set the market, but if I am Stearns, I am letting this season play out before making a new longer (3-4 year) term commitment. Not going to be on the cheap after this year. BTW- both NY teams had some good FA signings this year.
Alonso/Soto/Holms/Canning for the Met's Montas and Manaea are unsure as they havent played
Goldschmidt and Fries have been very good for the other side. Bellinger- not so much , but he looks to be picking it up a little

If, Alonso continues a great season, let’s say .300 100+ runs, 120 RBI etc…you just do it. What does the guy have to due to earn some respect?Alonso is playing well but the Mets should be in no hurry to extend him. I know it was only 7 innings but 1 out away from perfection and you pull him.? Come on man!Tong was insane today. 6.2 perfect in a 7 inning game since it was a DH.
6.2 IP 0 H 0 R 0 BB 13 K
Under MLB rules (which I assume also apply in MiLB), a no-hitter < 9 innings is not an official no-hitter. It's an official complete game and an official shutout, but not a official no-hitter. Bizarre rule.I know it was only 7 innings but 1 out away from perfection and you pull him.? Come on man!
I know. He was at 99 pitches. So strict.I know it was only 7 innings but 1 out away from perfection and you pull him.? Come on man!
I've said it as early as last season, if the Mets trade Baty, he'll become Justin Turner 2.0. PLAY THE KID EVERYDAY.Baty

Well I figured out how to get the Roku channel for the game today.
Are you DH’ing him or Vientos?I've said it as early as last season, if the Mets trade Baty, he'll become Justin Turner 2.0. PLAY THE KID EVERYDAY.
If you have a firestick it's an easy download. And free. Can also be downloaded on the web I think.
