Would love to see an early-season Garden State tournament:

There's eight teams in NJ: Seton Hall, Rutgers, Princeton, Rider, Fairleigh Dickinson, Monmouth, St. Peter's, and NJIT.

Don't even have to hold it every single year (nor would teams want to, they would want to be in other early-season events) but what about every 4 years? Host it at a different campus each time.

In the late 70's we had the informal "NJ-NY 7" that included RU, SHU, St.John's, Columbia, Princeton, Fordham and Manhattan. Lasted three years until the Big East was formed. Great local rivalries at the time.

If RU doesn't draw more than 4k at the RAC vs NJIT, why not play there one time?

It would be good practice to play in a hostile environment.
