2.5 cups in 45 years isn't that great. Past 7 years, 1 playoff win.....not series, just 1 game.

No Lou + no Marty = back to being a Mickey Mouse franchise

Hall is going, going, gone.
It was 3 cups in 8 year run and it was ******' fantastic, I still get chills of that run of cups, very few teams fans are lucky enough to experience it. Not to mention beating the Rangers in 2012 that felt like winning a cup to be quite honest. Keep talking down the Devils success if you want to look foolish.

Great pick by the devils. He is the better player.
And you could be a little modest about it bro, responding to a post dissing your team is one thing but this kinda taunting them out of the blue. Both sides had a great night and we should leave it at that.

And the Islanders won 4 in 4 years, time moves on, but let's reminisce together. Still remember the greatest run by a local hockey team. Matteau's goal, Mess holding the cup, million fans to watch the parade down the canyon of heroes. Probably the most memorable moment in NHL history.

How was that parking lot "party" with a few thousand fans? I think our local HS had a bigger celebration for the fencing team winning the state championship.

Devils may be the little brother, but they’re the more successful brother. That’s all that matters.

PS: This rivalry will be good for years again!

My father went to both the parking lot party in 95 and the Yankee ticker tape parade in 96.

Yes, just one fan’s opinions (and my father is a much bigger Yankee fan)...but he said the parking lot party was the much better experience.

All I care about is winning cups, I could care less about the size of the celebration off the ice, the only celebration I ever cared about was the one on the ice after Bettman handed Stevens the Stanley Cup.

Either you're trying too hard or not hard enough, either way you're absolutely failing because to you it's more important to have a bigger fanbase than winning. This fanbase crap I could never care less about.

I think it's because being a fan of a team is no achievement, I mean think about it, when you were or 8 or 10 years old you decided the Rangers were you favorite team, good for you but how does that make you any more special than any other teams fan? It doesn't, but what does make you special is you're a hockey fan and you know the sport.

I went to the 2000 one, didn't go to 1995 or 2003 parades but I was also there to see them win the cup those two years. 2003 was also my birthday. I always like adding that last tidbit.

Those parking lot parties were a blast, got to go more than one. That's much better than your once in a lifetime parade.

Avs selecting Bowen Byram, that is becoming one God-fearing blueline. I'd be super excited if I was an Avs fan.
For all the stupid nonsense between the devils and NYR fans in this thread, AVS will probably raise the cup before either. They have a pretty good team and have had a great draft. Sakic is very shrewd GM.

What a great turn out by the Devils fans tonight. I hope Hughes turns out to be a really special player. As for the Rangers hacks on here, give it a rest. Some of the arguments here are plain silly and reek of...I dont know, jealousy? I have been alive and witnessed 3 Stanley Cups being hoisted by the Devils. What a great accomplishment. How many have you seen lifted by the Blue shirts? Some Ranger fans feel the need to digress and compare who has better parades, who runs a better organization overall in the past 15 years, what goalie can be substituted with what results, and so on. Its laughable and pretty sad in a way. Enjoy your team and there is no need to attempt to cheapen the Devils success. Stop being Jaques Arses.

Great trade, the only piece that I hate giving up is Davies but you got to give up some value to aquire someone like PK and on top of it all this should keep Hall a NJ Devil for a good while now.

Shero you magnificent bastard, you ******* did it. I've been pushing for Subban to be a Devil for months but I never thought it would happen.

Also wish the 2nd rounder wasn’t #34 and instead a later one in the round, but oh well.

What did we trade?

No 2nd round pick now?

We had three 2nd rounders this year. We traded our best..#34 (other 2 picks are in the 50s I think). So still have 2 2nds and 2 3rds.

Also traded a 2nd in 2020 (so no 2nd next year as of now) and 2 prospects. (Santini and Davies)

Evan Roberts on the WFAN - consensus scouting moved Kakko over Hughes after the worlds. Can't believe the Devils messed up the #1 pick.

OK, we still have Walsh who I like.

Davies from Binghamton?
