OT: NFL games in Australia?

Man, I feel like this is a Bridge Too Far situation.

NFL prioritizing expanding international series to Australia, pondering holding Pro Bowl Games there in future

Despite a time difference larger than any other lands currently being explored by the league -- Sydney is 16 hours ahead of Eastern time now but 14 hours ahead in September -- the NFL is eager to get to Australia for a regular season game.

It would have to be a week before both/all teams have a bye week so both teams would have a week to acclimate to the time difference and then reacclimate back in the US.

First game on a Saturday and then a long week to domestic first game for those teams.. assuming home games.. on Monday Night might work pretty well. Noon on Saturday in Sydney is 9PM Friday in New York.

Yeah, I don't think the NFLPA was too happy about what went down. Just to get some more eyeballs NFL owners traded player safety off the field.

I don’t watch the euro games, only watched the Brazil game because the Eagles were in it. So I have no problem not watching the Australia game. I don’t watch much of the Thursday night games either. I don’t mind if they want to play all over world. It either has to be my team or a great match up. It still has to fit into my schedule for me the watch.

The first teams that go there will have fans for life. Aussies love sport more than any other group of people I've ever encountered.

Make it the kickoff game of the season on a Thursday.
Teams can go however early they need.
