Nice job pulling out the win after giving up the late lead. Bratt's shootout goal was pretty sweet.

7-2 on the season but what's really nice is theyre beating the good teams. 2 wins now over Ottawa, plus they beat a good Maple Leafs team and handed TB their only loss so far. Devils have 14 points right now despite playing fewer games than anyone ahead or tied with them in the standings. It's only Oct, but the sample is getting bigger and better. So far so good.

Plus they're 1-0 against the Rangers. So, suck it.

There’s a lot to like about this team in the earlygoing. They’re an interesting mix of youth and “vets” like Hall, Henrique and Palmieri. Granted it’s been 9 games, but this team has taken on a completely new identity playing fast, relentless forechecking and having their D pinch in and take chances. This style of play reminds me a lot of what the Dallas Stars have been playing the last few years. High risk, high reward. The last few years, the Devils have been trying to play the game that won them cups in ‘95 and ‘03, as opposed to 2000. The fact is that the game is way too fast to try and grind out 1-0 or 2-1 wins now. I’m glad that Shero/Hynes seems to get it. If it means allowing a few more goals while winning hockey games, so be it.

Best start in franchise history at 9-2-0. Hard to believe considering all the good teams the Devils have put out over the years.

Nice win yesterday. I read we have a top five farm system. Maybe we can make a trade for a veteran defenseman? If we can sure up the D we may be able to make a run. I think the offense is good enough and we have reinforcements coming.

If the little slump got you down I hope you didn’t miss tonight’s game!!! Down 4-1 win 7-5
Wood with the hat Trick !

Awesome win.

Thing that really stinks is the Metro Division is like the SEC West. It’s early but looks like a very good team or two won’t make the playoffs if the division continues like this. Everyone keeps winning.

When was the last time Devils fans had to say that?

I love watching this team play. Down 4-1 last night and you just know we can come back. Our offense is sick and it can get better. But if we really want to make some noise we have to play better D.

Great comeback win last night for the Devils! Down 3-1 in the 2nd period after ex Devils fan favorite Adam Henrique scores a beautful goal.
Devils comeback with 4 unanswered, 3 in the 3rd. Highlighted by 2 goals by Stefan Noesen, former Duck. (thanks ruteelrice for correction)

Man I love this team, once we get MoJo back and hopefully he stays healthy, we have so much more offense than in years past. I know some haven't loved Vatanen yet but I am hoping yesterday opens up the flood gates for him. Gotta keep this momentum going!

33 games into the season, still in first place. Not sure how long this will last, but slowly starting to believe.

At the very worst, this team is in the playoff hunt and will have meaningful games very deep into the season. They have played enough that the strong start is no fluke (in contrast, see December 2016). That said, the remaining schedule is quite a bit more difficult from the schedule already played.

Very encouraging that the Devils are getting healthy. On Thursday they may have the entire roster available except for Mirco M.

Also positive was last night's game against Anaheim. If that is how the Devils play the rest of the season they should have no problem being competitive.

Agreed. They've only had a few really bad games this season. The 5-0 loss to the Coyotes on the road and the 5-3 loss to the Blue Jackets at home after blowing a 2-0 first period lead. This team has shown a lot of depth and the ability to get offense from any of its 4 lines which is a huge improvement over the past 5 seasons.

The 3rd & 4th lone produxtion has been nothing short of freakin amazing. I love Boyle on the 4th and Noesen on the 3rd. These guys are some rock solid bottom 6 producers, at this moment in time.

This teams gonna get back to the playoffs for the first time in seemingly forever, and I’m ok with that!!!

In 1st place at Christmas for the first time in quite a few years.

Coming off wins over the Rangers and Blackhawks.

Brian Boyle is scoring goals and is such an inspirational person.

Devils will have a NHL high 7 prospects in action:

Joey Anderson (USA),

Michael McLeod (CAN),
Jesper Boqvist and Fabian Zetterlund (SWE),
Mikhail Maltsev and Yegor Zaitsev (RUS), and
Marian Studenic (SVK).

Here is the full schedule of group play and a quick reminder that the NHL Network will have a lot of action for those of us in the USA.
Never understood why Shero didn't bring Zaitsev for the prospect camp or try to sign him to the AHL after his KHL team was forced to release everyone from there contracts.

Can’t say I can remember the devils having this many top end prospects playing in this tourney. McLeod and Anderson are the more high-caliber Devils prospects taking part in these IIHF World Champs, but the other guys aren’t too far behind! Shero has been Brian cashman-esque in rebuilding this team so quickly, and then you couple it with the prospect pool?! Ridiculous! Good times for Devils fans right now!

3 straight games with dis allowed goals on replays. One 5 min 55 second replay in St. Louis to overturn a goal.

Really need help on defense.

Look for a big trade for a defensemen if they are still in contention by the deadline

The good news is that Shero has shown the aptitude and creativity to acquire what the team needs. Also, there is room for improvement for guys like severson and santini. Some more time for vataanen to gel with teammates will help. We have plenty of trade chips. I’m not worried, I think ray will do the necessary.!

Doesn't look like a playoff team.
Terrible loss tonight.

Absolutely no defense on the team.

Can’t win in the nhl relying on offense. And Schneider is probably the most overrated goalie in the league. (Though as I admit he has no defense in front of him).

A flawed team for sure.
