I will never buy new. 2-3 years old and less than 40K is my ride. I just gave my 05 GMC Denali XL with 180K to Jr. and picked up a 2016 Denali XL with 39K. Shows and rides like new. And yes, I donate. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Where do you buy your vehicles? Unless I’m buying from someone I know, I buy new, and really take care of it (current car is 2010 4 cyl. Sonata w 242k). I’d be afraid of buying a 3 year old vehicle w 42k that 3 oil changes.

Carfax and bought it from the dealer that sold it new. Carfax had the dates and mileage of the 6 oil changes within 39K miles and tires rotated at each oil change. CPO, Certified PreOwned, came with factory warranties + extended.

Hyundai G80 is excellent. Their new G70 just won motor trend car of the year.

How accurate is Carfax? I ask bc my mechanic, who worked at a dealer for 20+ years, told me they’ll generate maintenance paperwork just to get a sale.

********. With Volkswagen and Audi, I know for a fact, you can't "generate maintenance paperwork" without actually... ya know... doing the work.

There's revenue that's attached to every single one of those transactions. To falsify maintenance records is to falsify the financial records of the dealership. That's not only a criminal act, it's one that is a) 100% guaranteed to get picked up instantly by the manufacturer and b) cost the dealership their franchise.

I had an Audi A4 and loved it. Great in the Snow. If you want luxury with out the Price, try the VW Passat. I rented one of those for a month and loved that as well.
Drawback, Maintenance on the german cars stinks.

Great stuff, thanks! Question, what are you thoughts on large SUVs, talking Yukon, Tahoe, and the like. Any other good options? Obviously, driving experience is secondary, but rather quality and reliability.
My buddy works for the State Department as an embassy management officer. Employs fleets of Yukon XLs and Suburbans in overseas embassies. Granted, they have a dedicated staff of mechanics and rarely keep them beyond 4 years, but they are reliable and the go-to transportation.

On the higher price end, the new Lincoln Navigator is intriguing.

What about nissan’s, altimas and Maximas compared to the accord?
My Maxima was much sportier than the Accord, great performance and a good looking car. Since then I’ve had two Infiniti’s. Great cars, and never had an issue with either.

Nissan has a garbage transmission right now, their CVT is super loud and unreliable. I wouldn’t touch it at this point, same with Infiniti right now to be honest

I'm sure that has happened but stuff like that gets out especially with social media today. This is the 3rd vehicle I have bought from this dealer over 15 years. I always buy the last week of the year.

Didn't see this before. This is 100% correct.
