Those two traded families as well.
I spent time with Kekich living in the Dominican Republic for a winter, he attempted medical school there but washed out...lol
He hung out with us winter leaguers

Fun fact about Fritz Peterson. He is the all-time Yankees ERA leader in games played at the old Yankee Stadium. 2.52. Whitey Ford is second with 2.55.

Poor Whitey.He doesn't even hold the franchise record for most wins in a season by a pitcher named Ford.

I thought this was a very tough question.
He was a relief pitcher.
Another hint. He was part of a trade with KC which brought the Yanks a young outfielder named Lou Piniella.
Not a household name but when you hear his name you’ll know it. Had a 20 year MLB career

Anybody else. My other guess was Stan Bahnsen but he was gone the winter before to the White Sox.
Another one of those terrible early 70's Yankee trades. Bahnsen's first two years in Chicago he wins 21 and 18 games. The Yanks got Rich McKinney

I looked up his stats. He led the NL in saves three times in the early 60's and in 1960 finished 3rd in Cy Young and fifth in MVP voting.

He was 36 years old when he hit the homer and it was off Mickey Lolich.

Maybe add five years to that. I'm 51 and I never heard of the guy. Last year that guy pitched for the Yanks, I was four.

I'm well past 50 and I never heard that phrase. I mean, I know that was the Cubs infield, but I had no idea they were a phrase.

Tinker to Evers to Chance, on the other hand...

By the way, Santo was a fabulous player who kicked his heels to the Wrigley crowd after every win...I’ll you tube it

loved that guy...so cool.
Point of interest:
No one messed with Santo, one of the strongest men ever to play the game...and shot insulin daily .

How many of us even realize that Ernie Banks moved to 1st Base late in his career. Not as easy as some think. Mickey Mantle tried it late in his career, when they thought it would ease the wear and tear on his wheels. Absolute failure at it.

Someone mentioned Mickey Lolich. A long time ago in a galaxy far away, a couple of friends and I got premier seats for a Tiger-
New Senator DH. Had to be the late 60's or even 1970. The games were poorly-attended because Owner Bob Short was doing everything he could to drive down attendance so that he could make a killing moving the team to Minneapolis, so we had our pick. Anyway, we were sitting with a full view of the Tiger dugout. Mickey Lolich, who wasn't pitching that day, was teasing the Senators' visiting team bat boy all day. Several times, he picked up a handful of pebbles and tossed them onto the batting circle, and called to the bat boy to clean up the circle. And did some other little things I don't remember. The bat boy was grinning throughout, clearly enjoying the interaction with a major league player. Was always fond of Lolich after that.

When I heard NL,I knew that it was Lindy McDaniel.
He also hit a walkoff homer for the Cubs in 1963.
As far as his Yankees' career,I saw Lindy and the Tigers' John Hiller have an extra inning relief duel in 1968 in a 19 inning game stopped by curfew.My friends and I sneaked into the box seats behind the Yankees' dugout for the extra innings.
