What y'all got??? Who's the best ??? I'm in need of the best divorce lawyer around Starkville. Not going to get into specifics about this,just need some advice on who I should try to retain for my case.

He was honest, communicated well, and was thorough with a case I hired him for. Those 3 things combined are a rarity with lawyers...

I don't know personally, but I've repeatedly heard people that should know say that all things being equal, it's better for the husband to have a female attorney, especially if it's going to get nasty.
You may be upset now but always remember what jimmy buffet says "Tragedies better become comedies real fast of your in trouble".
Don't ever lose your sense of humor. It will get you through some bad times.

I didn't say what I did with the intentions of kicking you while you are down... And I don't agree with the thoughts that you deserved it for asking. No one deserves that kind of hurt. I will say that this is a sports message board loaded with smartasses who make smart *** remarks and sometimes the gravity of someone's personal situation is not communicated through a post... The OP sounded like a casual request for recommendations.

Thank all of you that have put honest thought and recommendations to my post. It is a very hard time for me at the moment and I am grateful that some of y'all understand. As far as msstate7,HD6,and sterling archer if I ever meet you in person I will knock your teeth down your 17n throat not trying to be a *** like y'all but hey if you come here with that **** you deserve it.

Definitely talk to a lawyer and preferably get somebody else that if not a trained counselor, is at least reasonably logical and can give you advice (that you will listen to) before making any big decisions. Obviously a hard time for pretty much anybody and devastating for many, so much so that they will do stuff that is completely irrational and unproductive, if not flat out counterproductive. For example, having an angry reaction to smart *** comments on a message board. Not being a smart ***, but while I have been fortunate enough to not have to go through it, have talked to people that have made it through to the otherside that regretted many of the decisions they made while in pain.
This is good advice - actually for all of us. Also, for the original poster, I'd probably recommend deleting all your social media if any. You never know what can get used against you - and, it WILL be used against you.
Secondly, don't assume your soon-to-be-ex will "do the right thing" or whatever - get it in 17ing writing.

If you haven't pursued counseling and really give this thing your best shot, I'd encourage you to not look for lawyers and find a good counselor. Divorce is a huge deal with lifetime repercussions.
Really? Dang dude all I did was laugh at someone's comment, not at you. If my "I laughed" comment offended you, im sorry. I sure didnt mean it to be offensive. I've been through a divorce and it sucked, but my life is better today than it used to be.
I know it doesn't help now but my divorce was one of the top 5 greatest things that ever happened to me. It lead me down a different road in life and looking in the rear view mirror I can see how much better my life has been. Got divorced 29 years ago and just celebrated my 25th anniversary and wouldn't change a thing.
She's not in Starkville but close in Aberdeen, Lou Ann Thompson has handled the divorce of three guys I know and has won custody of the kids in all three cases. That's unheard of. I have never used her for anything but I know three guys who believe in her.

Peyton Randolph in Ridgeland is a beast. Very good friend of the family and I have used him for other issues. He will call you and check on you multiple times a week. Plus he's a bulldog. Good luck.

Pbr I don't have a Facebook account, never have and never will.I don't need the gym I'm a roofer by trade and I know this will get a lot of **** thrown my way but my boss and another guy on the crew both have degrees from state. I have a degree also and owned a business that was grossing $25000 a month on average . I wasn't happy running that business day in and day out so I sold out. Everyone here may call me crazy but money doesn't mean everything to me. Being happy and being with my wife and kids is what means the most to me. You can make all the money in the world and it doesn't mean **** if you can't enjoy it with the ones you love.
