Already 10x better than March Madness was, through only one round...

Quality of play is outstanding. For the "they don't play defense" crowd, watch these games. The defense AND shot making, the strategy on offense, hunting matchups and switches they want, it's impressive. literally every series has something intriguing, it's been really great.

I’m not a big NBA fan, but I’ve been enjoying them more than usual. The Knicks-Pistons series has been entertaining as well as Minnesota-LA, and LA-Denver. Hopefully, only 1 or 2 more games with LeBron and then I can truly enjoy it.

The Mind The Game podcasts with JJ Redick and now Steve Nash are excellent. They really go into detail about the offensive and defensive strategies. The offense and defense in the NBA is just on another level.

Knicks Pistons series insanely physical . refs made it clear they will let them go. lot of fun.

Games have been great watches, if you can get over the Lebron fawning. Even the ref's were calling him Lebron when announcing replay decisions. Everyone else gets a last name.

NBA playoffs are pretty consistently entertaining year after year. When these guys decide to turn on the engines and go 100% and the refs stop calling the nickel dimers, the games become a lot of fun. The shot making in the nba is absurdly good.

I find it hard to believe any basketball fan wouldn't enjoy these playoff games unless they were just being stubborn or trying to prove a point. Lol 👀 just messing around, hopefully one day you can enjoy the game again despite its evolution into something different than you're used to .

Not getting that championship feeling this year with my Cs, but we shall see.
The magic always give them trouble because they are built around two big athletic wings just like the Celtics. They just don't have the 3pt shooting, also jrue is dealing with a hamstring and hasn't played. That's who puts them over championship hump..

Have an open mind! :)

I know you like extreme effort. You get that in the playoffs. Sure the game is a ton of 3 pointers (which I don’t love either), but you still have to admire the skill level.

NBA regular season, on the other hand, is generally terrible given they are playing about 85% and you can’t breathe on anybody.

He's just busting chops, but I think even GRF would enjoy some of the defense being played in these playoff games.

I am glad the Knicks won, but can someone clarify the difference in reviewing the key plays at the end of Lakers - Twolves and Knicks-Pistons? It seems that the key difference is that in the course of a reviewable play (Lakers-Wolves) they spotted a foul that altered the trajectory of ball, which is why they changed the call, correct? In the case of the Knicks game, the contact was simply missed and they can't review?

combo of both....cheat code has ruined the game and it is ruining college basketball...at least in my not so humble opinion

Yep, because they were reviewing who the ball touched last before going out of bounds they had the opportunity to see the foul. In the Knicks game there was no call to review so they couldn't go back and look at the replay..

The real issue was that JB Bickerstaff wasted his challenge in the first quarter on an out of bounds call that he lost. Second consecutive game that he used is challenge early and the original call was upheld. I have been watching a lot of NBA games and especially the Knicks. The officials are certainly letting them play but I find it very hard to determine what is and what is not a foul. The Knicks got a big break on the no call at the end but when you let so much go during the game its difficult to change course at the end.

Last year Knicks/Sixers was the best round one series. While the series with the Pistons has been intense as well, there are several first round series that are proving to be entertaining. I don't see the Knicks getting past the Celtics without injury assistance.

I think fouls are pretty much a refs discretion.. looks they could call a foul every couple seconds in some of these games lol

Admittedly penned in the ring at the time of that trade. Heist

These games have been unreal. For the crowd that says there is no defense, they should take a look. The play has been so physical.

I think if the refs called the game like the college game, there might have been about 150 fouls in the last Laker-Wolves game. Randle and Lebron were beating each other up every possession.

Best of Luck,
Groz

Except for this Miami Cleveland series. Sheesh, good thing the cavs are completing the sweep tonight. Miami shouldn't have made it out of the play in but Atlanta had too many injuries to overcome. Their entire front court was injured...mainly capella and Jalen Johnson..looks like they'll play Indiana next with Lillard being hurt..

Yeah that and OKC - MEM have been the only bad series. Even BOS - ORL has been surprisingly competitive. Seems like an increased emphasis on letting defense muck the game up — appreciate how the game’s are being reffed so far. Lots of low scoring matchups

There is no defense in the regular season you can’t argue that

Idk what the rest of the crowd says but the regular season is hard to watch compared to this

There have been some stinkers, but a lot of really entertaining games. The Warriors-Rockets games have been so fun - not only for the quality, but also because these teams do not like each other. Feels like 90’s physicality with present day skills.

Isn't that how Indiana got past the Knicks last year? Injury assistance. No excuses. You come to the table with what you have available.

I wish they had Top 8 only in the Playoffs.

Memphis and Miami stink and Orlando marginally better.

I think the officiating is awful. Doncic obviously tripped and the Piston shooter was fouled on a game winning shot . You have to call those IMO.

Bucks are done, if Gary Trent jr didn't hit like 10 3s I would say he threw the game in overtime..great game though..

Its never easy with the Knicks. Not that I expect them to get past the next round but they are a hard watch at times. Thibs and Pike are cut from a similar cloth.

They blew it. Not calling timeout with Brunson and Hart ready to get in. Malpractice imo.

Detroit is not very good. And it doesn’t matter the Cavs will crush both these teams. The Cavs second unit could beat them both. Well I guess the Celtics play the winner here so that’s a no brainer. Cavs v Celtics

Brunson is very good but the team suffers when he pounds the rock for the first 18 seconds of the shot clock. Too many turnovers and missed FTs tonight. The Pistons play hard and they will make you earn it.

If you get physical with the Cavs, they fold like a cheap chair.
lol the Cavs are physical I've watched almost every game. If that was the case, then no one has gotten physical all year. No one in the east is going to beat them

The regular season fouls are called for hand checking and other minor infractions. NBA playoff basketball has players falling to the court and fouls aren't called and injuries are more likely to occur. At crunch time fouls aren't likely to be called because they might decide the game result.Fans get upset when their team loses the game based on a referee decision on calling a foul.
