They gave him ZERO looks in the post. Defensively he’s terrific, but I guess they see him as a liability because of his poor FT shooting on offense.

As I’ve been saying repeatedly drawing so much ire. Soft, untalented and uncoordinated. Couldnt catch a cold in Siberia. Major hindrance. Not a P5 offensive player.

Yeah he's not really suited to play a 5 out game. Gillespie hit a couple of 3s over him because he's not comfortable guarding the perimeter.

Btw UCLA offense looks almost exactly like Rutgers except that Juzang is a lot better than anyone we have at hitting those pull up jumpers.

That is odd he had the exact same line with twice the time on the court.

18 min 2pts, 5reb, 2blk, 1ast, 1stl, 3 PF
36 min 2pts, 5reb, 2blk, 3 PF

One of his major flaws, he doesn't demand the ball in the post. Too "nice" of a player. Cliff is always demanding the ball in the post, even as a freshman.

What he doesn’t fit with, is offense. There or here or anywhere. More important, hopefully his education and intelligence will take him a long way.

It looked like MJ was on the court for most of the UCLA comeback. Not sure what his +/- ratio was, but it looked great.

He looked awkward, like he had not developed UCLA game intuition yet. I suspect that will improve substantially.

Son of a buscuit! This board never ceases to amaze….the kid GRADUATED and is GONE. He wasn’t the perfect player but he was well liked for the most part and played well for us. We knew his flaws.

Now some here make it open season on his flaws. And act like jilted boyfriends. Get OVER it.

I feel a bit sorry for Myles. He played 36 minutes last night and only had one field goal attempt. He did have 5 rebounds and 2 blocks but they rarely look for him on offense and the few times they did he was not in the best position and bad passes were made to him. He did have one turn over and almost lost the ball a few other times. Cliff after only one game is showing much more athleticism and is moving much more than Myles. I still hope Myles can become more involved at UCLA.

This will go on this whole season and never get a rest

Myles gave us four years and he is what he is
-an outstanding positional defensive center
-a very good rebounder
-a good shot blocker
-an average back to basket center ...never could get his touch to match his very good hands and feet to get open shots. Most baskets on follows
-a below average center when asked to offensive be more than 5 feet from the basket ...no catch and shoot, not good at setting picks

He worked really well for us because our coaching staff knew what he was. But it’s up to his current coaches to figure that out

But we will hear this through April ...and somehow blame our staff, our schoo or whatever else RU can be blamed for that an intelligent kid decided to made and to move on with hlife academically to his next step in life ...to go To graduate school because he could use basketball to help him do what he wanted to in life

UCLA is so talented that it doesn't matter how much Myles plays. They will play much better on offense with him not in the lineup. Myles played very well for us and we needed his presence on and off the court and he was a superior engineering student. UCLA doesn't need Myles to win.

He will be part of a top ten team all year and hopefully he doesn't regret his decision when his playing time starts to go down. Being close to home makes it a smart move.

Cody Riley didn't even play last night due to injury and he is UCLA's best rebounder. They are absolutely loaded with talented players of which can score at any time.

Best of Luck,
Groz

I agree. He did not look comfortable out there. It will take time for him to gel with his teammates. He was a lot more aggressive when he played here.

Of course Myles is missed here. As much as Cliff has improved, we are very thin at The 5. Cliff got two early fouls the other night and we fell behind.
Even if Myles became the backup, it would be a great advantage/luxury on defense.

Between you and that asshat Shelby you guys are clueless. Myles I impacted the game not just with blocked shots but altered shots and his defense chasing guards was really good . UCLA ‘s comeback was sparked by his defensive impact and Cronin could have played the other center but kept Myles in there. Bills was also raving about him.
Offensively , the 5 out style was all one and one with UCLA having better shooters. Suprised you didn’t say your stupid comment that they do not run an offense as if you were watching both UCLA and Villanova they both ran isolation one on one all night. UCLA hardly passed inside because Huzang was on fire and their guards and wings were all attacking one on one . He had plenty of impact in that game considering the way UCLA plays.

I watched whole game. One thing I did notice was a pick that Myles made and several over the backs that the whistle happy big 10 refs would have called a foul on Myles were rightfully ignored by the pac 12 ref crew.
Totally true. Myles' standard pic move is a foul in the Big Ten and not in the Pac 10. That alone makes transferring to UCLA a good move for him.

This. I only caught the last 2 mins of regulation and then OT. But Myles was a difference maker the whole time on D, and also on O rebounding. The fact that he was in the game when it counted and his minutes doubled from game 1 to 2 tells you what the coach of the #2 ranked team in the country thinks of Myles.

Defensively he played great IMO. Had some big plays in the post for UCLA. That game doesn’t get to OT without Myles.
