Good Fellas is the standard by which others should be rated, but some of my favorites are...

Gangs of New York - More so a gang movie
Road to Perdition - Very good mob flick.
Untouchables
Once Upon a Time in America
Heat - Not a mob movie, but moreso a heist flick. As far as action/heist movies go, it's at the top of the list. It sets the standard for heist movies.
The Town is sorta cheesy, but a decent heist flick.

Does Bronx Tale count? Greatest scene from any movie....ever:

Remember reading an article about that movie, and that it's essentially an autobiography about Chazz Palminteri's (mob boss Sonny in the movie) life growing up in the Bronx. When shopping the script to the production companies, he wouldn't sell the rights to the script unless he was allowed to play the role of the mob boss. DeNiro was agreeable to him playing the role, DeNiro directed the movie, and the rest is history. Not my favorite mob movie, because it's a little hokie at times, but still a decent flick.

I liked American Me and Blood In Blood Out which I suppose is loosely based on the Mexican Mafia.

They weren't some blockbuster but worth watching..

I replied earlier but just remembered one of my favorites: City of God

It is about trying to survive in the Brazilian favelas with poverty and gang wars... definitely a must see.

Donnie Brasco and Goodfellas were the first to accurately depict just how grizzly and nasty and unromantic membership in one of the New York families really was, especially by the 70's and 80's when RICO began to cut into them. Two scenes - When Al Pacino's character gets the call at the end of the movie and when Pesci's (spelling) character walks into the room where he thinks he is going to be 'made.' Chilly stuff.

As cut throat as it gets... Pesci's character had to be taken out. He was a complete lose cannon and drew way too much attention to the crew. He was my favorite character by a long shot in a mob movie.

Watched the real life story of goodfellas last night. In real life Tommy was a big dude 6'4 240. The similarity was the temper and the coke addiction. Bad combination.

Outside of the ordinary hugely popular mob movies... What are the most underrated and not well known out there.. Goodfellas can't be beat in my book but I'm hoping to hear some good mafia movies I haven't heard of that are good..TIA
"Romeo is Bleeding", with Gary Oldman and Dennis Farina

co-sign. subtitles, but it's worth it. has a quasi sequel in City of Men, which is okay but not near as good.
Yeah, I believe City of Men was a spiritual sequel TV series that was made after the movie. I remember it being very good as well but not quite City of God level greatness
