10 consequences days forecasted to be over 50 degrees between 1/14 - 1/21?? Very warm for this time of the year. I hope we don't have a scorching hot summer.

In Florida on vacation - was 79F and partly sunny today and is supposed to be like this for the next 5 days.

In sunny and warm Florida for the next 5 days with every day supposed to be 75-80F and warm nights in the mid-60s. I friggin' hate Florida, lol, but my dad and my sister both live here in Vero Beach (separate houses) and my mom is considering the move from Charlotte to Vero - so I kind of have to do time in Florida and I'd much rather it not be in summer. Sounds like it was almost as warm in our area yesterday, with Central Park breaking its 1890 record (64F) by hitting 66F.

Anyway, tomorrow is a nuisance event, at worst. Shouldn't be more than an inch anywhere and likely less than 1/2" in most places (and likely a coating at most north of 78). Plus with temps around 32F during the day and the snow intensity mostly being light, snow will generally not accumulate on any paved surfaces, so driving shouldn't be an issue. I would have been pissed to miss a real snowfall.

Pattern is looking very warm for the next 10-12 days (apart from this weekend), as per the CPC graphic, below, but then most long range models are showing a colder pattern taking shape by late January. Beyond that, many pros are touting a cold/snowy February, but forecasts that far out are not very accurate, so take that with a grain of salt.

Not a clipper, actually - more of a southwest flow event with a couple of short waves rotating through along the frontal boundary that will be just to our south on Saturday. Clippers drop down from Central Canada towards us. And while a bit more precip will fall in the Philly/South Jersey area vs. north of 276/195, I haven't seen anyone predicting over an inch of snow. Could also be mxing with sleet and rain in Philly/South Jersey as temps are marginal for snow.

Actually, as of the current forecast, which could obviously change, Omaha should be mostly sleet/snow with maybe a few inches of sleet/snow on Sunday. Precip will likely change over to freezing rain (ice) Sunday night, but ice accumulations are only expected to be 1/4" of so, which is bad, but nowhere near as bad as 1", which could be crippling especially to the power grid.

KC has an ice storm warning up for up to 1/2" of freezing rain (ice) accumulation. Given a 1 pm kickoff this could be a major issue. They rarely postpone games for snow, but ice is so treacherous that they might consider it. However, treated roads (and parking lots) during the daylight hours should be ok in that area with temps around kickoff near freezing, so my guess is the game will go on, especially with temps going above 32F by mid/late afternoon (and a changeover to plain rain). But if it ends up being worse than expected, i.e., with more ice or a later changeover to plain rain, I could see them pushing it off until Sunday night or Monday. I wonder if they would put salt down on the field to prevent it from becoming a skating rink.

it was 65 here yesterday and more to come next week. The cold weenies can hope for their cold February but that can change real quick like.

anyhoo the temps tomorrow will be so marginal, the snowfall so light and the ground warm from previous days that driving shouldnt be an issue tomorrow for this brief period of snow

Outside of last weekend and a few days here and there in December, it has been a warmer than average winter so far.

Well, mine clogged up with the last storm and I could not get it to blow after 2 passes. So, we got the reverse Scarlet Nation jinxes going on snow. Maybe I should have gotten the Mega Maid:

At the moment, snow is falling in Flemington. It looks impressive coming down. It is sticking to the deck and the bushes, but not to pavement or grass. We were going to do an errand, but neither of us like driving when snow is coming down, even if accumulations are supposed to be small; snow makes roads slippery.

Coming down pretty steadily in New Providence, just above Rt. 78. Getting close to an inch on the ground where its sticking.
