Re: bolded part above...yep, which to me makes her case a little less impressive, but Reeve isn't known for being unbiased.
I agree with the part about "The supporting cast", as one player isn't going to get it done. But, if you extrapolate the 7-2 record from the start of the season, doesn't that come out to 29-7 (The total games being 36) which they currently are at? I'm not great at math, so if anyone wants to correct me, please have at it. If that is where they are now, then I would say that with Collier they would be better due to a larger sample size.

This league is so funny. Early in the season, when CC missed her fourth or fifth game, the pundits were saying she would not win the MVP because no MVP has ever missed more than four games. Now Collier has missed 10 yet they’re still going to give her the MVP that they had already awarded her before the season started. And in those 10 games, I believe the team has won pretty much all of them without her. Then Coach Reaves says the MVP should be the best player on the best team, yet Wilson was not on the best team last year, in fact the team was worse last year than the year before when she didn’t win it. It’s the only league that determines the MVP before the season starts and makes the argument fit as the season goes on.
WNBA is full of politics and "agenda." Throw logic out the window.

Jones missed 5 games when she won the MVP award.

Collier was not the favorite to win the MVP this season...she was behind at least Wilson and CC and only became the front runner when the other 2 (and their teams) struggled as the year developed. Not sure how you can claim that everyone wanted her to win it before the season started.
Every pundit I saw had her winning it from the start. There was zero talk about Wilson, which surprised me since she had just won it….and no one was going to give it to Clark- that’s not going to happen anytime soon, not in this league. And I’m not talking about the Vegas odds, I’m talking about the talking heads of the WNBA.

Of course she isn't, but Ironhead39 wants to think she is.
Lol, I haven't said a thing about Kelsey Mitchell. I personally don't care about her potential inclusion in the MVP race or whether she deserves it or not, but I appreciate you thinking I was talking about that at all. 🙃

I simply asked about the injuries Minnesota and Las Vegas have had to deal with compared to Indiana, because context matters.........and you somehow think thay means I want Mitchell included in the MVP race?

I don't see the WNBA awarding the MVP to an eighth seeded team. No chance. Best case scenario is first team.

Aja Wilson wins the MVP Award. Tonight, she put up Reese-like numbers and her team lost game one in the Indiana series. Wilson had 16 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. Wilson is now a four time MVP winner. Meanwhile, the early favorite for the award, Napheesa Collier remains focused on competing for the Championship.
