Will CITI be selling Weisenburgers?
He had been up previously, not long ago, and had appeared in three games.
I recall Gary Cohen inadvertently referring to him as Weisenheimer. He quickly corrected himself.
Love Gary. I must say, in this lost year, my attention span has been short. Also, I was pretty much emotionally blacked out for 8 weeks starting in mid April for reasons that are not worth going into. I'm back and ready for some playoff baseball. Did I miss anything?
Didn't miss anything. Playoffs start on 9/29. I assume you are not fussy about who is and is not participating.
Fussy would be the wrong word. Disinterested if the Mets are not in the playoffs. College football (for now) holds much greater interest than baseball. For example, I will probably exclusively watch the Rutgers football game tonight and only peek in at the Mets game tonight (I know who they are playing). It will be interesting for me when Gary and Keith retire. Ron is OK, but Gary and Keith are the main attraction for me. This may partially explain why I don't immediately recognize such things as GG and why I don't recognize who is up and down from the minors. I give you guys a lot of credit who are on top of these things. Maybe when I retire, I'll dive deeper. If you have not fallen asleep, thanks for reading.
Please don't mention Gary and Keith and retirement in the same thought. I don't want them to get any ideas! I agree that Ron is not as much of a character but then every once in a while, he says something that's either a great point or one that just cracks me up. FWIW, Stearns says "no question" Lindor will be the Mets SS next year.

AA Binghamton wrapped up its season today not with a bang, but with a whimper - a rainout. But first, #1 prospect Jefferson Rojas was promoted to AAA Syracuse to finish up there. Syracuse plays for one more week, with an outside chance to make the playoffs.
Billy Amick, who is somehow unranked, hit another homer for Syracuse today. He now has 38 for the year, between AA and AAA. He won't be on the 2027 Opening Day roster, but I wouldn't be shocked if by season end he is the Mets semi-regular 1B.
Speaking of the prospect rankings, Jonah Tong graduated from the list last week. His place was taken by Nick Lavender, who was slotted at #22. However, Lavender too will graduate in a week. Maybe Amick will make the list then.

My biggest concern for Amick is that he doesn't walk enough. You can at times roll with a guy who has great power and a ton of strikeouts, like Amick. But he needs strong plate discipline. One of the best examples of this in the League right now is Schwarber. Every at bat is a battle. Amick doesn't have enough of that, at least not yet.

Man- I am trying to remember Seaver coming back for the first time but what Pete got when he came in, sounded like we just won the WS....
Pete Alonso is one of only 2 players to play in every game since 2024. I guess Stearns didn't put that in his laptop.
He never says it directly but just like any other player he has moved out, there always seems to be unnamed sources with negative things to say about them...And it somehow only seems to be the players that were here before Stearns or guys he never wanted to sign.

Our GM has alienated almost all of the fanbase. It is more about them throwing it in his face that actually for Pete.
