What's next, he changes it to Zak?He did get rid of the H this week. Zach to Zac.
THAT is what I was referring to--I remember Zach Thornton, but with all the rookies, I thought, who is Zac?

Why not Zak?He did get rid of the H this week. Zach to Zac.
What a catch by EwingSomeone should tell Freddy if you want to help your trade value…..play better. Thank you Robert JR for the HR bomb. We have no room for you in the outfield but hopefully someone else wants you![]()
Was very low to begin with, unless Cohen wants to eat most of what he is owed next year, which he has already said he is disinclined to do.Polanco certainly doing wonders for his trade value
Gotta , just gotta get that 220 5 hr bat in the line up.
EDIT …..221 and 6 HR !!!! Trade em while he’s hot !!!!!
zero reason that can’t be a hit and an error on Baty That should NOT count as EARNED runs
How can Peralta be ranked that high? WTF already. The Athletic (paywall) ran a list of its Top 125 starting pitchers. The ranking was highly analytics-based. The Mets current rotation was all there:
#16 - Nolan McLean
#41 - Christian Scott
#59 - Freddy Peralta
#81 - Zac Thornton
#90 - Sean Manaea
Clay Holmes was not there, presumably because he is not now in a starting rotation.
The interesting rating to me is Peralta. As there are 30 teams, he is clearly rated as a 2/3 starter. Assuming there are teams whose analytics are similar, he will bring back a decent return.
Two Mets alumni are in the Top 10 - deGrom at #7 and Wheeler at #8.
One word - analytics. How can Peralta be ranked that high? WTF already.
Where's the eye test? Oh well, I get what your saying. One word - analytics.
We can only hope that enough GM's use the same analytics algorithms as the Athletic.Where's the eye test? Oh well, I get what your saying.
Here ya go. This may help @cubuffsdoug_rivals understand the situation better.Where's the eye test? Oh well, I get what your saying.

it is why I shake my head at the analytics guys...One word - analytics.
OMG who would have thought itJose Iglesias is returning to New York - not to Queens, but to Broadway. He has accepted a role in the cast of the Broadway play "Buena Vista Social Club" for a six week run.

Actually I am not surprised. Candelita was quite the sensation in the Latino pop music world.OMG who would have thought it![]()
Threw 51 pitches. Results not great but not important. He will make another rehab start on Tuesday. That sets the Mets up to promote him and start him on Sunday August 2, the day before the deadline.Holmes pitching for Syracuse on YES network against the Yankees minor league team now.
Only one I think is worth mentioning is Mitch Voit.My son and I are going to see the BlueClaws play the Cyclones tonight.
Is there anyone on the Cyclones roster we should keep an eye on?
I thought it would be Mauricio, or maybe Tauchman who is finally healthy. But I really don't get the Wagaman hate. He is who he is, a marginal major leaguer who is good enough to bring up as a short term injury replacement. The Syracuse roster has a bunch of guys like this. Most AAA rosters do.Wagaman?![]()
The guy who really needs the audition is Polanco. He should DH every day. We need him. $$$$Soto to IL. Soreness in right calf which has been bothering him for awhile. Earlier in the year, he was on the IL due to problems with his left calf. I guess the calving process can be painful.
Wagaman back up.
The silver lining is that they will certainly now be able to give Robert a full audition to the deadline.
You really think Wags is the best player? Maybe from the Mets farm but I am a big picture guy. We pluck players off other rosters for years. Sometimes you catch lightening in a bottle. We have seen what Wags can ( more importantly can’t do). There are 29 other teams. You really think we shouldn’t try to get someone else not on another teams 40 man roster? Now you are stuck with Polanco and Wags. $$$ Stearns won’t move Polanco.I thought it would be Mauricio, or maybe Tauchman who is finally healthy. But I really don't get the Wagaman hate. The guy you SHOULD be facepalming about is Ryan Clifford, who was supposed to be ready by now, but is not, and possibly never will be.
I meant audition for other clubs for possible trade. Robert is much more tradable than Polanco, since Polanco is guaranteed $20M for next season. The guy who really needs the audition is Polanco. He should DH every day. We need him. $$$$
To your first question, no I don't think Wagaman was the best choice. I said I expected either Mauricio or Tauchman. I could have added Melendez. Those guys are all lefties. (Mauricio is a switch hitter but much better as a lefty.) I guess they wanted another righty bat off the bench. You really think Wags is the best player? Wags stats. .162 avg with 2 HRs and 4RBIs in 37ABs. We have batted him CLEAN UP. Please don’t question who I should or should not be upset with. Proof is not only in the eye test but also the stats.
Soto to IL. Soreness in right calf which has been bothering him for awhile. Earlier in the year, he was on the IL due to problems with his left calf. I guess the calving process can be painful.
Did not play.Only one I think is worth mentioning is Mitch Voit.
You realize- Stearns would trade him for nothing and pick up most of the contract.I meant audition for other clubs for possible trade. Robert is much more tradable than Polanco, since Polanco is guaranteed $20M for next season.
He has gone on record that he is not eating any contracts. So we'll see.You realize- Stearns would trade him for nothing and pick up most of the contract.
