Anyone remember if this was the name of a guy who wrote for The Reflector in late 90s/early 200s? Watching MS Outdoors and he was on the squirrel hunting segment. Seemed like he always wrote articles that pissed girls off (can't drive, too emotional, etc).

Am I right with the name?

haha. Yep. Old Beason was a nut.

Wrote firebomb articles. Then when he got out of school wrote in Meridian and got a HS coach fired because he quoted the coach calling his team a bunch of pussies.

He's the official scorer for the M Braves now.

Beason is a legend

Beason is a hell of a BBQ Pitmaster too. He was with the Chimneyville team and is cooking with another team now.

That would be him. He has some excellent squirrel dogs and competes in field trials with them.

He's a good friend of mine. We covered the 1999 U.S. Women's Open together.
He is or was part of a competitive BBQ team in the Jackson area named Sofa King Good.

Mark Beason is a legend. For about 2 years you could count on Tuesdays and Fridays starting off on a good note because of something he'd write in the Reflector.

The year that he was the Opinions Editor and Marshall Harris was the Sports Editor was awesome. Marshall is now working for the Comcast Sports station in Philadelphia covering the Eagles and Sixers primarily. Before that he was the sports guy at one of the large Huntsville stations.

Those two constantly pissed off the 50 percent of the MSU campus with ovaries.

Funny Beason story - he was removed from a softball game for making the Arkansas left fielder cry during a game.

That was a great year, but Marshall was not sports editor that year, I was ... :)
