Watch how he is used at BYU all season and then tell me sample size. Different offense and asks tender different results.

An open shot is an open shot.. he had plenty at RU. Don't mean to trash a player, but not everything is Pike's fault.
An open shot is an open shot ! What your asked to do on both sides of the floor , spacing , and shooting form are the coaches job!

He had plenty of space to shoot at RU. Were you watching? So you are attributing the BYU coaches for changing his shooting form?

I am attributing minutes played, space on the floor, clear form change and offensive system as the uptick in his shooting percentage

Cam Spencer shot 43.4% in his Rutgers year. Coaching is not the reason for individual player percentages. It does play a role in not getting enough attempts and sometimes the wrong players getting attempts.

Larger than Mag’s
You can’t play both sides and hence why analytics approach is always flawed. Just keep changing your numerator until you get the story you want.

Either you credit Mag and Cam or neither for a one year sample size. Or throw them both out .

Mag is averaging 6 pts and 17 mins per game. Let's not pretend he is lighting it up
Funny I agree with you that mag is a nice bench compliment to a team. I agree him leaving not a big deal but everyone would tell you his injury against MSU derailed Pikes career. lol

Which is it? Nice player and nice to have averaging minimal numbers at BYU or Michael Jordan in his prime and went down at msg costing us a season and Pike his job?

Mag getting hurt had 5% to do with us missing the tournament. Pikes meltdown, bad coaching cost us.

Hate the way he went out at Rutgers.

BUT can you imagine Cliff and Mag providing D protection for Ace and Dylan? They were constructed perfectly for this roster of frosh
If used properly yes and uptick but I have zero faith this staff would get it right

Dude looks 40.
Who knows how old Mawot is. I doubt Sudan produced reliable birth records for children like Mawot born in what is now South Sudan.

Economist magazine did report in 2023 about how parts of rural Italy and France have impossibly high rates of centenarians. What happened is these regions didn’t adopt birth certificates until much later than more advanced parts of the countries. So a person wanting a government pension would make up a birthdate. A 50 year old would say he is 65 to collect. Fast forward, and an 85 year old is counted as a centenarian.

Yankees player El Duque left Cuba aged 32 and arrived in US at 28 years old.

I actually can’t stand the way we lost all link to the teams of 2019-2022. Cliff and Mag were supposed to still be here, passing the torch. Keeping it going. We’d be so much better off. Now we’re lost. I don’t know the circumstances around any of it. I just miss them being Knights on the court. Say what you will about Mag but before that infamous msg game we loved him. I seem to remember the day Ace committed the kid worked his rear off defending osus 5 when Cliff was in foul trouble. The kid could defend all five positions and started to have some scoring pop right before he got hurt. These two, Paul being forced out when we recruited Fernandes. That short sweet era all ended too fast.

Also, he was buried on the BYU depth chart the first half of the season. A complete after thought. Only recently have they given him any run.

They would have been perfect compliments to this team.

With that said there was little to no chance Mag was coming back or should we have wanted him back considering he had one foot out the door for a long time and quit on the team.

I was disappointed we didn’t try as hard as we could to retain Cliff. I obviously have no idea how hard we tried but it seemed like we just let him walk without trying to muster up the $ to make him happy for one last year.

Not sure if something changed within the team, or if it just took mag a while to understand/internalize the new system.

He's been doing better since he earned a starting spot.

The sample size is always a huge problem for college 3 point careers

Maybe I’ll grab some data comparing 3p% among all players who played for pike at Rutgers and also another team

Mag was becoming the best offensive player Rutgers had his last couple of games before he was injured. His 3 point shot was getting progressively better over the years as well. Good to see he's doing well out there, gotta catch a byu game now..

They left because they got paid elsewhere. If Pike had funds those dudes would still be here. Rutgers fans want to win for free and if that doesn’t happen it’s Pikes fault and this thread shows most Rutgers fans just criticize players and forget that money talks and BS is talked about daily here. Coulda shouda woulda but not without $$$$$

Agree but will ppl look past is we have more $$$$$ on the floor then any team we have played minus 1 Bama.

So the $$$$$ is on the floor for Pike

Come on again are you new? You can’t take credit for NIL that this fanbase did not produce. Ace and Harper are not here because of Rutgers sponsored NIL. Sneaker and multimedia NIL is why we have our 5 stars.

What?

1. Every other big time school uses corporate money . (That’s how it works)
2. Not taking credit for the $ BUT if you look at total $ on the floor Nil Collectives + corporate money Pike has more $ on the floor then anyone he has faced.

SO it’s not if Pike had more money he would win.
