OT: Mag vs Cliff thread

The both are role players on their respective teams.
They would be role players on RU this past year. Cliff would rebound and offer rim protection. Mag would defend the best player on the opposition. Neither guy is a top scoring option.

Sure Alabama has hit some shots. But they gave up 79pts in 34 minutes! Can’t win a game like that.

When your up by a ton, giving up points is pretty meaningless. Essentially garbage time. That’s one of my problems with reliance of efficiency metrics. They treat every possession the same but they don’t all have the same meaning and everyone doesn’t approach all with the same intensity.

This is 2025. We should have models that can look past possessions where we have garbage time or the foul fest/prevent defense that happens at the ends of game that artificially inflates offensive stats.

An engaged Cliff and Mag are huge in team defense. Literally the difference between 15-17 and a 5 seed or better.
