Conforto can help this team win a ring - he has the 'it' factor. Campbell can go or Cuddyer, whatever - this kid needs to stay.

Ed Coleman was funny this morning. It is Wilmer's world and we are just living in it.

Kind of disappointing to lose back to back games after having early 3-0 leads. I knew today's pitching matchup didn't favor the Mets but they had it going their way. And I know the bullpen may have been kind of taxed after Thor only gave them four innings yesterday, but I'm not sure about the decision to run Colon back out there for the 7th. And one final thing on this game.......,striking out 14 times as a team is way too much. That's over 20 in the last two games. Oh well back to Citi. And hope the Rockies can help out vs the Nats.

Way too many strikeouts. Other than hitting into a DP you can't have a more less productive AB. This is not just an issue for the Mets as the stigma of striking out is long gone in baseball.

After 2 losses in a row I will add in a very positive fact, which is who in their right mind ever thought our Mets would have a now up to 16 page thread going on here. Miracle Mets is happening in 2015.

One has to question why Colon was pitching to Jaso and why he out there in the 7th inning......Collins' handling of the pitching is sometimes a bit mysterious

Boomer and Carton give Collins a hard time with the sound bites, but the one this morning was pretty funny. They cut Collins saying:

"When we face good pitching, we're gonna strike out a lot."

Mets home for ten. Nats on the West coast for 10. What do the standings look like at the conclusion of this key stretch of games?

No help from
LA tonight.
Help, we don't need no stinking help! We got this R U for Jersey even if we take it on the the last weekend of the season head to head. That would make in even sweeter but I'd also be happy with the no sweat situation too.

I'd prefer the no sweat situation this time to be honest. I still think this team is more like the '85 team (who if a wild card and 3 divisions were in place probably would have made the playoffs) where there are a few more kinks to work out, maybe a missing piece or two away from doing it the following year.

I've been telling people I see this season as more like 1984 - a pleasant surprise with no expectation of contending going into the season. In 1985, I thought they had a great chance to win.

Bottom line is if they consistently put more than 0-3 runs on the board they'll take it. Team is now an incredible 43-7 when they score 4 or more runs. Only KC is better.

Keep it rolling. Grienke and Kershaw vs nats. Harvey and deGrom vs rocks.

Any one going to Baltimore with 7 line army ? Seven of us are going , should be fun.

I love the way everyone is contributing right now. Cuddyer comes off the DL and both he and Lagares who were regulars who have now been relegated to part-time duty step in and get the job done. Same with another guy who I'm really happy for.........Ruben Tejada who delivered with the big 2 out hit last night.

Ruben Tejada is my 12 year old son's favorite Met. I have no idea why. But when we watch games together, I tease him about Ruben not being as good as Flores or Herrera.

Harvey looked awesome last night! I was actually nervous when Collins sent a pinch hitter for him in the 8th. Let's go Mets!

Probably because he's just a quiet, laid back guy. When he was on the bench for most of the season you never heard about any griping from him. He just bided his time and stayed ready to play when called upon. He'll never be more than what he is, but i've also noticed he has somewhat of a penchant for coming through with big clutch hits.

No help from
LA tonight.

I was at that game. Mattingly sat Gonzalez, Peterson and Ethier. I understand that the players were tired from playing in Pittsburgh the day before, but when you have Greinke and Kershaw going in your next 2 games, why not rest them in those games? As it turned out, Greinke did not need much run support in the next game. Freakin Mattingly!

At least they redeeemed themselves last night. Well Greinke and Puig did anyway. Now hopefully Kershaw can do his thing tonight along with Degrom and the Mets bats.

I've been out of town a few days. Can someone fill me in on this parakeet (which looks more like a canary)?
